The potential new Team President’s relationship to Major League Soccer, an organization that Tepper has namedropped twice during press conferences since becoming the owner, will likely continue to fan the flames of a professional soccer team coming to the Queen City.

“We are well of David Tepper’s interest and obviously that is a great development for the city,” MLS Commisioner Dan Garber said during an online social media Q&A session earlier this month. “We are intrigued by Charlotte.”

Excited for it, seems like he’ll be great. I guess we should all be prepared for the band wagoners to join up over the next several years. This team is no longer gonna be a small regional mom and pop chain. With this guy’s focus and Cam as our face, we’re gonna blow up.

For sure. MLB is a tested market already. There’s money to be in MLS if you know what you’re doing. Tepper didn’t make his billions in the stock market by investing in what blue chick stock. Dude was a Hedge Fund investor and those guys invest and base their portfolios on the most speculative stock out there in high $ amounts. Point is, Tepper is going with whatever is good now. He’s looking at 5-10 years down the road

Guy went after someone with big time experience building a brand...and not someone that was in between gigs either. Mr. Tepper went headhunting and got himself who he wanted. I like it.

Waaayyy outside the box hire, for certain.

That's not a complaint though. As long as he's qualified to play his role, I'm fine with it.

Can't is Right. David Tepper is a very different kind of dude.

lame soccer jokes by losers aside, this is a great hire. glick was part of a team that turned city football group, and manchester city into one of the most recognizable brands globally. he helped expand the brand, and was part of the expansion of city's stadium, and the birth of the city football academy as part of the etihad campus. for anyone who hasn't heard of the cfa, it's a state of the art training facility and academy school. with tepper being adamant about needing a new practice facility, this is a really smart hire. i would expect glick to work from day one on getting the practice facility that tepper wants.
