We were top 5 with Shula dumb ace now we have  a legend as oc we will be #1in rushing

Think of turners use of a fullback in Dallas and San Diego Emmitt Smith was a small rb like cmc but he had Daryl Johnston blocking. Look for Norv to use less shotgun and more lead fb formation to lead cmc and c j

CAP is a better overall RB. Has Panthers ever kept 4 RBs?

I agree that CAP is a better overall RB but Barner brings more to the table and I'm sure is cheaper than CAP but I believe that CAP has guaranteed money in his contract.

I don't believe that we've kept 4 RB's before. I know that we've kept 3 RB's and a FB though.

If you look at the 3 preseason games so far the drives have been time consuming with balance on pass & run. The added dimension of RB screen/dumpoff  is gonna help lead to extra possesion for the offense, & if you pair this along with the deep threat back in the WR group, this will lead to more explosive run plays. I doubt panthers go away from the run game near the redzone & 4th qtr close outs.

Well if our secondary is going to be giving up big plays, that strategy is going to change about consuming the clock. Hopefully not the case.

One notable take away from preseason so far is the run game that doesn’t rely on QB1. Most analysts still argues that in order for CAM to be successfull this season he is gonna have to run the read option to compensate for his “accuracy issues” but so far the preseason has shown that CAM can be Brady like by taking what defense gives him. His legs will be the icing on the cake for the offense as added dimension.

I believe the momentum from preseason in the  run game and defense is gonna carryover into the regular season for a 4-0 start!

RB Corp:  CMC, CAP & CJ

Prediction: Panthers will have one RB with 1,000 yds rushing, one with 1,000 yds receiving & one with 400yds each!

Imagine that we have the #5 running game in the league right now. And our leading rusher from last year has only run the ball what, twice?

This is going to be a very, very fun year.

The only thing that might hold back our running game is that we should probably make use of the best receivers group we've had in years. I mean, we don't want them to go to waste.

    • Really? Wow. Sorry. Got my timeline messed up. I remember someone claiming to be Graham’s mom on the old Charlotte.com board so I guess it was a long time ago that he was here. I guess I thought he was after Kasay.
    • Nick Scott has gotten his share of Huddle hate, but I came across this SI article by Zach Roberts when I was researching recently released Quandre Diggs, speculated to be a better option  (https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/11/07/breaking-titans-cut-former-three-time-pro-bowler-quandre-diggs-4-destinations-ranked/3/), but getting back to Nick Scott... Now to be fair, the observation on Scott was before the Packers game, but the stats couldn't have changed that much, and may have gotten better.   "At some point during virtually every Carolina Panthers game, you have probably found yourself grumbling about Nick Scott. The much-maligned safety has seemingly been out of position a lot or has failed to make a play. The eye test has often let him down. "But that's why stats are so helpful. Sometimes, the eye test, especially for fans, is unreliable. On occasion, advanced metrics help make sense of things and lend more clarity. In the case of Scott, they make him look like a much better safety than any of us would've guessed. "In coverage, Scott has given up just 15 yards and an average of five yards per catch. That's the lowest among safeties, leading superstars like Julian Love, Talanoa Hafunga, Quandre Diggs, Kerby Joseph, Kyle Hamilton, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. "In FI%, the safety leads all his counterparts once again at 40%. Brian Branch, Camren Kinchens, and Xavier McKinney are some notable names he leads. He's been pretty excellent in pass coverage, which is crucial for the Panthers." For those wondering, "FI" means forced incompletions. Now I'm way past trying to figure out why X links aren't embedding for me like they used to, but here you go: https://x.com/dacornerman/status/1981363757608513632?t=rx_5iLjp8_y5huNcg_y1nA&s=19   Suffice it to say that Scott may not be as bad as some have led on.    https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/onsi/news/much-maligned-panthers-db-way-better-than-think
