NOW: Live Panthers Q&A with Nick Carboni from NBC Charlotte

-Who's snaps do you see Moore taking?

Wright seemed to be our best WR last week and in camp.  Funchess has been hit or miss.  And Smith who hasnt done anything.

-Does the staff have full confidence in the safeties not name Searcy and Adams? Searcy is already in his 2nd injury so this could be a problem going forward.  If the staff doesnt have confidence in them going forward, do you see us possibly making a move for someone after Marty adjusted the cap with Luke's restructure

-Washington is polar opposite of Wilks.  Wilks was blitz heavy, while Washington doesnt seem fond to blitzing and all pressure come off DL (which seems right with him being a DL doach) week 1 he blitzed a couple times once resulting in a Shaq sack.  This past week he rarely did and when the DL didnt get pressure, Ryan stayed clean and picked us apart.  Could we see Washington mix some more blitzes in of our Line is struggling to get to the QB again?

Tepper has mentioned wanting more usage of analytics in the Panthers future planning and coaching.  Do the Panthers already have the people in place to do that sort of thing or is that a need for the future?  Also, any idea how people Ron Rivera, Marty Hurney, Norv Turner and others feel about this idea?

How would either of you assess the Defensive Line? I think they've been fairly averaging going on two years now. Because we've had to blitz to get the majority of our sacks for two straight years. Also, do you think Ron Rivera's philosophy is outdated in this NFL? Where the most important thing is to stop the run? While the QB is getting the ball out quick and torching our trash secondary?

-Not sure how many snaps Moore will get (17 in each of first two games) but more touches for sure. He's got just two rush attempt and two targets, obviously one went for a 51 yard score...and showed off precisely why the Panthers drafted him...game-breaking ability after the catch. More Moore is on the horizon.

-Full confidence? Doubt it. They love Colin Jones for his ST works obviously, but this is Rashaan Gaulden's chance to show why he was drafted. They'll both be in the mix at both safety spots if Mike Adams needs a rest. More Gaulden if he can prove trustworthy.

-I expect DLine to get back on track at home, but yes, more blitzing from: Shaq Thompson/Captain Munnerlyn...Jackson if he plays?

Also, we have some idea about what Norv Turner is like as an OC, but what about Scott Turner as a QB Coach?  How different is he from his predecessor, Ken Dorsey?

There's definitely more of a difference between N. Turner and Shula at OC than there is between S. Turner and Dorsey at QBC. Obviously there's been a bit more precision, and so far, less risk taken from QB1.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
