Hence me using the term "defense is a good thing", which you conveniently didn't mark bold.

You're utterly delusional if you think that running the ball and playing defense in today's NFL is a winning formula.  The I-formation don't work like it used to buddy.  Defenses can stop that in their sleep - then they send they're 5 receiver sets out and massacre you.

If you want me to give you credit for saying "defence is a good thing" then you're in the wrong place...

The I-formation absolutely does work and continues to be used and has nothing to do with the pace of your offence.

The "I-formation" is an analogy for "old school" football which just doesn't work like it used to.  You can deny it all you want, but it's true.  There were 1200 yards of offense in the superbowl this year and almost 80 points.  The year prior, same situation.  Offenses are taking over the league.  It's time for us to get with the times and keep up.  You don't need ball control to keep pressure on the opposing offense.

We will probably have the slowest pace by season end

It’s sad knowing Cam and this offense will never reach their full potential under this regime.

So what you're saying is we're 4th best in time of possession?

This stats doesn't correlate to points, scoring is still far more effected with how you execute once the ball has been snap as opposed to how fast it's snapped.

This stat isn't referring to this. Big reach. Fail.

I'm not sure what you're talking about right now.  I'm not referencing a stat.  I'm referencing a single series in a game where our pitifully slow offense cost us any possible chance we had at a comeback.  Looks like you're the one reaching... or you just decided to randomly inject yourself into a conversation that you haven't read the entirety of.

You are using 2 minute offense as an example of our slow offense. The entire thread is about our offense being one of the slower paced offenses on purpose.

That single play that took 22 seconds off of the clock was part of our 2 minute offense being poorly executed. It is NOT an example of our purposeful slow pace play.

That was on the players not the coach's game plan or strategy.

I don't think it was.  I think it's actually a culture of the team.  When it's time to move their butts, they can't function properly.  When you are waiting til :01 to snap the ball on every single play, I just think you start to lose your urgency overall.  Sure seemed like it.  They weren't hurrying to the line physically speaking either.  They looked completely lost when it was time to run a hurry up offense.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
