Cats/Bills Matchup

As smart as it would be for the Panthers to call plays for Delhomme to simply hand the ball off, no one expects them to go that route. They'll dial up a few deep balls in an effort to get Delhomme and Smith back on the same page.
Good Lord, I hope they don't do this. The Bills secondary will have a field day.

I'm a Jake supporter, and even I know that you don't ask him to throw long this year. The Bills have a great passing defense, and it's not just because teams are running against them. They're legit. Let's hope Davidson knows this.

Well, I want Jake and Smith to try to get something going. I don't want that to be the priority though. We need to run the ball 80% of the time.

The Bills secondary is pretty beat up right now - McGee, Scott, and Whitner are all questionable. Scott and McGee will probably play - both were limited in Thursday's practice. Whitner sat out.

Both of the Bills' starting safeties, FS Donte Whitner (ankle) and SS Bryan Scott (ankle), have been ruled out for Week 7.

Trent Edwards (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 7.

Bills starting DT Kyle Wiliams (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Bills TE Shawn Nelson (concussion) is listed as doubtful for Week 7.

Both their starting S out with Williams will really hurt an already pathetic run D.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
