Which is why Cam will be playing despite the OPs wishes.

Cam will be playing because RR is coaching for his job.  It has nothing to do with your "logic."  I played through shoulder injuries in college--and I know they do not improve as the year progresses.  They get worse.  Yes, you can shoot them up and tape them up and go for broke, but the result is rarely positive.  I am looking long term, you are worried about salvaging a season.  Again, since RR is the coach, Cam will play, but that does not make it smart.

So are you citing yourself as a source to support your opinion?  There was a play when he stretched out to run for a first down near the sideline.  They showed him grimace as he walked back to the huddle.  You are basing your opinion on a throw-video footage.  You really can't do that because so much has to do with velocity, body positioning, wind, etc.  They took out Cam for a reason, one that you may not know--that is not an opinion.

I'm citing the literal video footage of the plays. I'm basing my opinion on the facts of the two throws I saw. Both Cams and then Taylor's after we got the 5 yard penalty to put us closer. Cam grimaces all the time. They took Cam out for a reason, that is correct. You also don't know why. But hail marys are very flukey plays and after Cam was put in danger on the previous play it made no sense to keep him out there to take another hit on a play that is a shot in the dark to land in the arms of one of our WRs. But I recommend you go watch the two hail Marys and see where they are as they let the ball go and the yard line the ball lands at. Same air distance traveled for both throws.

No, you are interpreting the video footage you have available. You can't see pain or xray his shoulder on YouTube.

Your theory on Hail Mary passes is not sound.  The season was on the line.  We are down by 7, and you say pull him for fear of injury because the play is fluky and the odds are a "shot in the dark."  However, you suggest he play the rest of the season when the odds are a shot in the dark of the Panthers making the playoffs.  The risk of injury over 1 play is not greater than 4 games, and the time to give it all you had was on that play.

Good discussion.  I enjoy the banter.

Oh my fault. I think we had a misunderstanding of what I was interpreting in the hail mary video. I was talking about the yard like from where they threw to the yard line where each ball landed. I wasn't trying to claim that I could tell if his arm and shoulder were hurting on the throw or whatever. Just that his arm allowed him to hit the same air yards as Taylor on his throw.

And I think we are almost all in agreement that once we are officially eliminated from the playoff hunt Cam needs to rest.

I think I misunderstood you--no  worries.  Hope you stay on board here--we need intelligent posters.

The good news:

Rivera is undefeated in games where his job seems to be on the line.  We will steal a victory from the jaws of mediocrity on Sunday.

The bad news

It seems that every time we become mathematically eliminated (essentially) from a playoff spot we go on a win streak that kills our draft seeding.

Don't hate the player hate the game.  Everything is results now focused. Which organisation thinks long term anyway? Not the coach who can expect to be replaced if we don't have a winning season, what does he care?  There is no long term partnership, no assurance.

Imagine Tepper saying I know we can't win this year but you have my backing to have 3 years down the line to build a contender. We can wait.  That's something he will never say.

An organization that thinks long term doesn't keep Ron Rivera or Marty Hurney.

As to the topic, I've seen this movie...several times. Don't care to see it again.
