Realistic view.  If Cam gets his surgery... he will likely miss 1-2 seasons.  Means he will be around 32 years old and out of contract with the Panthers.

Please, dear lord.

Would probably be the best thing in the damn world to get him away from you ingrates.

Yeah because he's shown that he can make the throws and do what we need him to.

Manning came back for the Broncos

Brees has been a torn in our side for god knows how long now.

You don't throw away something because they MIGHT not be 100%.

Cam averaging something like 5.6 yard per pass and has awful QB rating on passes 15 yards or longer

It based on performance vs. pay.  Cam is making $23M in 2019 but his play is not worth $23M.  If the guy cannot throw 20 yards down the field and averaging terribly QB rating on throws 15 yards or more... you will never win many games with production like that.

Cam have a dead arm syndrome.  They were supposed to fix it last off-season but clearly it’s more serious than expected.

Cam is making the 15th highest QB salary this season.

Cam Newton was an MVP candidate behind Mahommes and Brees until 4 weeks ago, even with not being able to throw downfield.  Granted, some of these numbers may not include today yet, but...

Cam Newton is 10th in Total QBR (ahead of Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, & Big Ben)

Cam Newton is 6th in Completion % (behind Brees, Rivers, and Ryan as MAYBE guys you take over Cam)

Cam Newton has a 99.8 Passer Rating - - 10 points higher than his career average showing improvement.

By all statistical THROWING measures, Cam is a Top 10 QB. Hell, I'll even just say Top 15 to make it match his salary. Then throw in his running success.  So again, please tell me how it's "performance vs. pay" and not something completely different?  Because if you want to argue actual football and stats, even AFTER a few bad games...he's still better than half the QBs in the league statistically where he's never shown brightest.

What surgery do you envision Cam would have that would cost 2 seasons to rehab?

 Please be specific.

The Huddle can’t even tell the difference between Luck and Newton’s injuries let alone what surgical procedures are used to manage each of them. I really wish people would quit talking out of their ass.

Nah, Cam fuged up his arm big time.  Need a succession plan or we will become the Browns.

So your succession plan...is to cut him and have no QB?

A succession plan would be to draft a guy this year, have him sit for a couple years, and then play as Cam's contract expires. Your own succession plan is to blow it up...without a plan.

You're getting way too worked up about a 6-7 team.

Realistically our new owner will hit the reset button on this staff and front office, and we will finally see what this team can look like with some actual offensive identity that isn't boring Rivera ball hiding behind different offensive coordinators.

Cam has on of the worst yards per completion in the NFL.  Cam has one of the worst QB ratings throwing the ball over 15 yards.  His #1 WR is running back, hence why his completion percentage is so inflated.  Cam threw 9 TDs and 8 int over the last 5 games.  Such an MVP performance.

Draft someone younger in 1st.

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
