Newton's longevity

I'm more concerned with his decision making. If he doesn't improve upon it, I don't think that it will be too long (relatively) before he's sent packing, ordered by Tepper after consultation with his people.

A lot of folks scream like banshees at the notion that Tepper would even consider moving on from Newton.

I surmise that you're not one of them.

Simple fact of the matter is that no one can truly say what the status of his shoulder is unless you’re a healthcare professional working directly with him. As a healthcare professional who specializes in human anatomy and movement I can tell you that no two individual cases are identical, particularly when it comes to cases dealing with the shoulder.

Shoulder injuries, particularly RCR’s take months  (often longer) to get a full return in function, strength, mobility, etc. Could be lingering aggravation or potential exacerbation from the original injury and surgery or to a lesser extent it could be weekly fatigue and soreness by games end. He’s not just throwing 20-40 times in one week, people.

Ultimately, until Cam himself comes out and says he is in talks with the surgeon, I would give it a rest on all the assumptions because we know what assuming does for folks.

Grier does not suck.  Don't think he is going to be a Panther, but he doesn't suck.

Without knowing the true status of his shoulder, hard to say.  Assuming the injury just requires rest and he comes back from it completely, I think he still has several more years of top level play and a few after that of playing well too.

No quarterback is going to look better behind this line...

I don't see much chance of it. I think he'd make a great guy to groom as a successor (and a nice story in that he's a Charlotte kid who grew up a Panther fan) but I seriously doubt it happens.

The thing that concerns me now is that there might not be as much time to groom a successor as we previously thought.

A kid comes out of Charlotte and he is the next coming, it’s really kinda cute but I want no part of him as a franchise QB.
