Cam's trade value

Our draft pick is likely to be in the 10-14 range. I am a big believer in BPA, so I don't think reaching for a guy out of position in the draft is a wise move. Let the draft come to you, unless you see a "can't miss" opportunity afford itself in a trade. Would prefer that Hurney doesn't do that, given previous history.

The OL situation could go in a lot of directions. If we resign Daryl Williams, and opt to go with Larsen as a Kalil replacement, then we are probably only looking for depth or potential future guys to groom as starters. If we do not sign Williams and do not think Larsen is the guy, now we may be looking as many as three new starters, which is going to be extremely difficult to deal with. LT immediately becomes a priority unless they opt to move Moton over but an OT will be needed regardless. Chris Clark has been great as a "couch FA" that was signed mid-season but I would love to see him as a backup OT and not a starter.

WR is fine. Moore looks like he could be a guy, as does Samuel. Wright is a good one to keep around. He is pretty dependable and reasonably priced. If anything, pick up a FA or grab a guy that is BPA in the draft. I don't view WR as an area of much concern.

Trading Cam would be extremely unwise, IMO, unless he has some serious debilitating injury that is being kept top secret. Grabbing a journeyman to accompany him would be a wise idea. I do not have any idea how we ended up in a situation where we as a franchise thought Heinicke was an adequate backup QB.

I’m totally against trading Cam— hes the best thing ever for Carolina— I am though for Tepper making Cam get the surgery and rehab, and making the GM concentrate on an Oline like Dallas— get the guy some help.

our Oline sucks— Cam covered them up for so long they were really exposed when he’s hurt and still hidden because of Norv CMac Wright and company.

Samuel is not a wide receiver. He’s a running back. We need a TY Hilton type of receiver that really does take the top off.

we need a Left tackle— not a chump playing there.

BPA can work, you just package up and jump to the pick you want your guy. Jump up or drop back.

for tackle we will need to jump up.

I am not going to advocate for anyone forcing anyone into a surgery. We don't know if he needs surgery or not. He might just simply need time to rest and rehab that shoulder.

The OL has been remarkably capable this year with a lot of moving pieces. I would not call them good by any stretch but Norv has schemed pretty well to limit their effect and Cam has done a decent job of getting the ball out to the shorter routes to limit the time they have to block. That said, we need to decide what we want to do with Daryl Williams. He is the critical decision this offseason. Prior to the injury, he was performing as one of the best OT's in the league. But knee injuries like his are serious on big guys. More to the point, he is now an unrestricted free agent. That means we are going to have to negotiate with every other team in the league on a position that is one of the thinnest in the league. OT salaries are extreme. Hell, look at Matt Kalil.  That was a legit market salary for a bum like that. The LT market is thin and the OT draft class looks to be thin this year, as well. Classic rock and a hard place scenario.

Samuel is fine as a WR/utility player. WR is among the least of my concerns with the team.

BPA is not moving up or down. That is not best player available at all. Plus, we have ample history of that not working out well. As a general rule I am against that kind of move unless we are talking about getting into the top 10 to grab a franchise "can't miss" type QB. We shouldn't really have to move much for an OT, it isn't a particularly stellar class and I don't think there is anyone on the board really worth reaching for to trade up.

Right— so I’m on the oline draft— left tackle because we have the best draft pick since Star,..

then Center,.. then a swing guard/tackle.

we also need a downfield receiver like a TY Hilton or similar.

Samuel is a running back, too fragile to play all the time, characterizes by the types of plays he’s in. Moore and Wright are our only 2 viable wide receivers — Torrey just come back— he’s a winner(people hate but we win with him playing)

im on the draft Oline and speedy wide receiver kick—

sign a caretaker like Fitz or Osweiler.

if we trade Cam,... then hook up with Jacksonville ha.

Dave...is that you?

Cam's health issues are going to limit his value to teams in the market for a QB.

Rushing him back into action before he is healed up may permanently ruin his playing career.

Finding a place holder while Cam heals would be the best course of action (might be looking at a year or more).

Not sure our cap issues will permit it though.
