I’m comfortable with Heinicke as backup

We had a watch party today, none of us Panther fans or knew anything about the Panthers but we all were watching Heinicke  and rooting hard for the Panthers. Mccaffrey is awesome! To all of our disappointment we realized Heinicke isnt NFL materiel but WOW..just WOW you guys are terrible! We all agreed we havent seen an offensive line that bad ever, if it wasnt getting blown up in the middle instantly, that left tackle was getting destroyed on the edge, if your Oline wasnt getting destroyed in pass protection it was getting a 10 yard penalty.

Your defense..lol, Ryan wasnt even that good but he was throwing to guys that didnt even have a defender in the tv screen.

Good news for us we wont be worrying about you guys competing in the NFC anytime soon!

we should have the same expectations out of our back up, one armed qb as we do our franchise 100 million starter or racist

There is one, and only one, condition wherein I would be disposed to even bring Heinicke to camp next year.

That condition would be the Panthers hiring a head coach or an offensive coordinator who plans to run a West Coast Offense.

I don't really see him working out in a Coryell attack, but in a West Coast offense, maybe.

Hard to tell what the backup is capable of doing when he played injured for most of the game.

On a side note: Pulling Allen after he moved the team into scoring position seemed counter intuitive.

I think you can add managing injuries to the QB position to the long list of things our coaching staff does not understand.  Their decision tree seems to be:

  1. If he is not in the emergency room
  2. If he is in uniform,
  3. If all his body parts are attached, and,
  4. If he is higher on the depth chart than the guy who is in there,

Then he goes in the game.

He converted all 13 of his field goal tries with a 100% conversion rate that led all FBS kickers with at least 12 attempts. Fitzgerald was also perfect on his 14 extra points. He will compete with Matthew Wright for the Panthers’ kicking job in training camp. Harrison-Hunte went undrafted despite a strong showing at the Combine. He’s an older prospect who will turn 25 by the start of his rookie year, but he had just one season of sustained production at SMU after five years at Miami. Still, he earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2024 with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and will push for a roster spot in Carolina as an athletic interior disruptor.   more at the link https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/05/panthers-sign-19-undrafted-free-agents
