Man, I sure am glad Rivera won today...

Whiney thread is whiney...Moving down a few picks in the draft isn't that big a deal. Retaining the current coaching staff after this seasons epic collapse worries me a lot more than draft position.

But that's more of what I'm getting at...  it isn't just the draft position that upsets me.  It's the cumulative culmination of it all in the form of the later draft pick.  As a diehard fan, if this game, or any game we play, matters, I want to win.  No ifs, ands,or buts...   that being said, we blew so many winnable games in a row that tanked us right of out of the playoffs due to bad play and bad coaching.  Then multiple reports come out confirming Ron is staying, Cam has been ridden into the ground by the aforementioned and his future is up in the air depending on his shoulder, and it became clearer our team is old and in need of an infusion of youthful talent while a ton of money is wrapped up in non-productive players.  And to top all of that great news off, Ron goes out and finds Payton rolling out a red carpet to victory, and he takes him on the offer, eagerly.

The game had no bearing on our future games, playoff implications, or anything else BUT draft position.  Winning was the last and worst thing we could do, and Ron did just that.  It's like a cherry on a poo sundae.

Now, if the disaster that was this season doesnt linger enough, imagine come draft time, there is a guy we really need and the fanbase almost unanimously wants, and he goes to Atlanta (or any other pick between 8 and 16).  So, then we get to revisit what a great team win we had today.

Ok. Well if we can only win one or two I hope we beat the Falcons and Saints. Who do you want to beat for the 2 wins?

I want to beat the Saints too, when they are playing their A-team, when they are actually trying to win, and when it has playoff implications.  Today, none of those things applied.

You mean the same players that when the games actually meant something "laid down and quit" 7 games in a row?  Yeah, I dont think it should be that hard for them to lose on purpose considering they were doing it when it actually mattered.

So is it Ron’s fault or the players’ fault? I guess it’s fluid, depending on whichever narrative you’re pushing at the time. At least be consistent...

All the other bad teams are doing the smart thing and losing. Our draft position has plummeted.

Falcons, Lions and Bills won as well. Bucs weren't  playing to lose either. The others were playing much superior teams and/or teams that still had playoff hopes.

Panthers were playing one of the few teams that had their seeding secured and could afford to rest their stars.

Alert the press!! “Bad teams that lose a lot, just lost again”. Those geniuses definitely must have been tanking.

Unlike most of them...we’re not a bad team. We lost 7 games by 7 or less behind an injured QB and a first-time defensive coordinator who was relieved of his play-calling duties 3 weeks ago.

You are what your record says you are. In the second half of the season, we were probably the worst team in the NFL. Excuses are for losers and that's what we were. Today we capped it off losing by winning. That's ultimate loser poo.

How can you say “You are what your record says you are” and then constantly badmouth Rivera? If you really wanna strictly go off of Wins/Losses, then Rivera is a pretty solid coach. If you wanna say that his success in the league is attributed to Cam Newton, then I would have to direct you to your “Excuses are for losers” comment.
