Orville Season 2

just got around to seeing the first 3 episodes today and it's more impressive this season with the writing and editing. The humor is a little less jarring but still great at times. The relationship with the Captain and First Officer is WAY better this season, in fact it's been downright interesting. They're doing something off the wall with the security chiefs character this year, shes on the show and contracted but shes going to be in a movie with the kid who plays Archie and has been off filming that and other stuff. Patrick Warburton plays her temp replacement in EP3 and yeah its clearly Warburton by his voice but he's pretty funny and they haven't overdone him yet. Visuals are terrific.

They did a whole episode dealing with Bortis' marital and sexual problems; I love how this show continues to find ways to make you think and feel about things in different ways, a lot like TNG did but able to get the drama out there a little farther.

Every show has standalone plots but is fine with setting up continuing story points which I think is a great idea; TNG was always afraid to do that and it took DS9 to really introduce story arcs to Star Trek.

Actress had contract disputes. She opted for the other show.

She was my fav too followed by Gordon and La’Marr

Too bad.  Interesting that both this show and the show it parodies had their security officer leave the show after one season.

I'd heard the Alara actress and Seth were an item and the Fox network basically let them know that kind of situation in the workplace wasn't going to happen. So she went on to do other shows and they had a great send off episode for her.

Can not verify this, though.

I loved that they tackled pornography. We've already talked to our son about porn but it was a great conversation starter and really showed the concerning aspects of pornorgraphy.

What is there to be concerned about?

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
