Hell I am too, but the REAL REASON we lost this game is NOT JAKE DELHOMME.

Not that I am taking up for his retarded play, and inability to be who he once was, but this loss is not his fault.

This loss is on 2 people; JEFF DAVIDSON & JOHN FOX

There is no damn reason you throw 45 times against the leagues WORST RUN DEFENSE.

DeAngelo Williams averaged 5.5 ypc

We lost this game because OF PISS POOR PLAY CALLING.

the 45 is misleading.....look at how much Matt Cassell threw it last year? Cassell sucked so they created a bunch of quick throws that were an extension of the run game. Those throws the the RBs yesterday where the 1st option and not check downs.....I haven't even looked at the numbers but I certain that was a record under Davidson for passes to the RBs in a game.

I agree with you , AK, as far as it goes. But I was there, and Jake just made poor decisions, still looking to Smitty like he's the only guy with hands on the team (even though, come to think of it, he might be). Plenty of this should be on the heads of Fox and Davidson, but a heaping portion of blame should also land on Jake's plate. I hate saying it, man, because I love Jake and what he's meant to this team. But now he's a liability.

Davidson gets all his playcalling advice from the Huddle. Don't believe me? Just read the threads after each week and look at what plays Davidson calls the following game.

Were we watching the same game??? Granted the play calling could have been better but Jake(the Joke) Delhomme lost this game, pure and simple.

He is a turnover machine and the main reason the Panthers are presently one

of the worst teams in the entire NFL.

Nothing wrong with the playcalling, on Jake's 2 INTs a good pass that was actually on target would have resulted in a 20+ yard gain. But Jake, as usual, threw the ball too high and long to an open receiver down the middle of the field and the result was two picks which set up the Buffalo offense inside the redzone.

Exactely... enough of the its everybody else's fault. Jake has been overthrowing , underthrowing, throwing behind receivers all year. Those two picks, he did have two wide open guys and just overthrew them both.

Its not the playcalling, its not the defense right now, its nothing other than the fact the Panthers have a HORRIBLE QB.

I was all about running the ball down their throats but I knew we were going to throw the ball on them because this has come up before. Davidson/Fox think they are outsmarting the competition by passing when they expect us to run.

That is their idea of game-planning. Look at the play-by-play and you can see the pass game was a big part of our preparation. And I really don't have a problem with that, you can't go into a matchup one dimensional.

But it is the little things killing us just as much as the big; Rosario running a 6 yard route on 3rd and 8, half-ass blocking on punt returns, getting plays in late and you can go on and on.

When you out-gain a team 425-167 with 20 first downs to their 9 and you find a way to lose convincingly their is a laundry list of people and things to blame. It's not just Jake and it's not just Fox/Davidson. They lost as a team and an organization in a game they knew they had to win and in a game they should have won and they did it at home. Pathetic all around.

I just dont understand how you gameplan all week and say; "hey were playing the last ranked rush defense, not to mention they had 5 ints last Sunday, lets throw the ball 45 times and hope we win"

Dumbass's

yep. game planning and even the announcers were ripping on jeff's play calling.

it all boils down to this. who's hands do you want the ball in? jake's, or the RB's??? then design a game plan around that and stick to it! even if we're down 10 or 12 points. our RB's can move the ball and score a couple of TD's. and, the reason we're down 10 or 12 points is jake and special teams!!!

int's, fumbles, and missed field goals.....

Jake must be benched.....Fox must be fired.

I have supported both during their tenure here, and thank them for what they have done fo rthis franchise.

However, Jake's play and Fox's continuous refusal to accept the invevitable has made them both dead in my eyes.

Great game by the defense. They have played their asses off the past few games.

If I were a member of the Panthers defense and Fox continued to send Jake out.....I would go Tanya Harding on his ass in the locker room.

Fox might not take him out of the game, but I sure would.

I don't know what game you were watching AK. They were scared to death to let Jake throw the ball deep. The vast majority of his pass attempts were under 10 yards to tight ends and running backs. It was almost like a WCO-style of playcalling tonight. A lot of Jake's passes were glorified running plays by their design.

I actually thought the PLAYCALLING on offense was good and could've been effective. Those short passes helped us to control the clock. Even the deep routes to Barnidge and Smith were good calls. The problem was the EXECUTION. It's clear that we can't rely on Jake to throw the deep ball. If your QB misses wide open targets on the few deep routes called (though the 48-yarder to Smith was a thing of beauty) then you're in trouble.

I had no problem with the gameplan or the play calling. I thought both were right on and anyone saying anything differently better not have commented in the "How would you fix it?" thread because the general consensus was exactly what Davidson/Fox did.

The problem was Delhomme and a lack of execution by several players throughout the game. Kasay and K. Moore didn't help matters either. But I have no doubt that the Bills would have only scored 3 points the entire game if it weren't for the turnovers. It might not have been pretty but the Panthers would have won 9-3.

I agree with MPF i had no problem with the gameplan. We had 426 yards if Jake would have executed the plays like they were drawn up we would have crushed them. Now everybody see how 1 position can make others look bad.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
