Creatine questions

I've been thinking about supplementing with it for the following reasons- I want to gain more muscle mass - at my age of 50+ it is getting more difficult to not turn into a body blob even with working out 4-5 times a week.  I am also a long time pescatarian - haven't eaten meat in 20+ years - I don't even eat much fish and from what I read you only get it from meat and fish.  My creatine levels must be pretty darn low.  Also I read it can help with arthritis and joint pain which is starting to get annoying.  Anyone have any input as to what to take or how it might effect an older guy or how it has or hasn't helped you ?

I can't speak to its effects in older people but you'll gain water weight and faux gains. I'm honestly not a fan of it. Maybe @Darth Biscuit can help you out.

Same here played around with it on and off over the years, even at a low dose of 2.5-5g a day  I gained 10Lbs of water weight over a month,  ended up looking too puffy, yup wasn't for me either.

In my opinion creatine is for skinny high school bois trying to look swollen without putting in the work. I do believe most creatine comes with BCAAs though so there may be some recovery benefits.

I felt there was "Some" Recovery benefit, it was the reason why I started to take it to begin with it, I was cycling 5-6 days a week and my legs were shot,  but the cons outweighed the benefits.

In the end a nutrition tweak and some active recovery yoga days provided more recovery benefit for me.

From my experience it works well for slight weight gain, not going to blow you up huge but 10 pounds is a good number if you use it as the label suggests and work out properly. It made me generally feel better throughout the day, seem to have more energy when I decide to go through a tub.  You need to drink plenty of water when cycling.  Only real down side of creatine is it gives me the shits.

You and some of the others mention this.  So I think I'll pass on the creatine.  Thanks to all for your advice.

It can't hurt to try if you're curious. One this about Creatine is IT'S CHEAP. You can get a tub at Walmart for like $5. But if you don't want creatine I'd advise some BCAAs for recovery. They make a big difference for me.

OP needs to be a man and just buy Tren.

I had to look that up.

About 6 years ago my doctor ordered a  couple blood tests for me during a physical.  Turns out my testosterone was about 1100 when it should have been about half that on average for my age.   I asked him what could cause it to be so high and he said taking steroids or testosterone.  I guess he thought I was juicing and when I told him I never had he acted like he didn't believe me.

    • Pretty sure Tepper wanted BY regardless of the coach. Unfortunately for Panthers fans. I am confident Reich did not want BY.
    • But they went with a smile… and some acid reflux.
    • Prediction? We likely lose.  Maybe look okay doing it.  It could be different with some turnovers coming to us.   In general I don’t have the same faith in what we will get from Andy that I had in the week three games of the two previous years.   I was very confident as to what we would see last year vs the Raiders and was validated.  The patchwork OL worries me, in pass pro, with him being old and creaky and not exactly being ‘cat like’ in his escapability. And somewhat concerned about his arm strength. I mean in general, I think he could still be ‘as good once as he ever was’ which is a huge upgrade from Bryce.   But it is still another year of aging and at some point it’s over… people say it is for him, I haven’t seen enough of him this season to say otherwise.  Add the fact that they are generally a more seasoned and tested team than we are, players to staff. I am skeptical. But that is why they play the games, we don’t know for sure.
