8 hours ago, electro's horse said:

peppers was a great player and deserves the hall of fame

if you think he was giving everything he had, especially after 2005, you're lying to yourself. jenkins left because of it, and buckner has basically come out and said it several times.

this is just history. lots of you are going to get pissy about this, but if you were following the team in the late 2000s and posted here, every other thread was about peppers taking plays off and dancing with the offensive tackle

While I disagreed at the time, you are right that a ton of people on here were criticizing Peppers for taking plays off.  I never bought into that and still don't.

My aunty met him in Lumberton while he was helping after the hurricane. She couldn’t stop gushing over how tall and big the guy was and how he was so nice.

I really started watching during Peps rookie year, and I was so happy to see him come home.

Thanks for the memories, Julius. He has represented well for NC.

Met Julius with my five-year-old son at Panthers training camp a few years after he was drafted. He came over to the sideline, began a conversation and agreed to sign my young son's poster. Julius was his favorite Panther and that poster was put up on his bedroom wall. Now, my son's off to college, but that poster remains on the wall, a proud reminder of Julius' career.

Thanks for the memories, Julius. Best wishes in retirement. Keep Pounding!

    • Well yeah. Last time vs NO if we had had good QB play and half ass pass pro it is a different game. And that is the story more often, in point of fact, than the two or three hero games everyone wants to use to define the player.  That box was so stacked against the run it was basically impossible to break through it, you had to go over and around. It is what we knew was gonna be employed by teams and we were unable to stop them from doing it.    I am real interested to see the first 3rd and 8 and see how NO defenses it in the back end. Because they can look at that Rams tape and learn, but will they have enough fear/respect that it can happen to them or will we need to prove it again before they do?   Most people don’t learn from others’ mistakes and  need to make their own.
    • I like that Tillis is so down to earth  we will see where it goes ill say something controversial on a day that, along with next week, determines the panthers 2025  and 2026 fate  he referenced ‘money ball’, statistics and self scouting multiple times. it really makes me feel that Bryce will be back regardless of what happens over the next 4 games as that is the smart move for financial stability but by no means does that guarantee Bryce anything past that.  They will improve year over year regardless of position or who is affected       however, they will do the appropriate diligence and not cut off their nose to spite their face….it won’t be an emotional decision…unlike us Huddlers….for example, if Young’s happy ass shits the bed today, I’ll be less than pleased ..particularly having seen what they will do and having a bye week.  Brandon Staley is a good defensive coordinator and former HC.  His defense is aging but he can still develop a good game plan
