Im not doubting you buuut watched him for years?

Take the rivalry glasses off for a second

His Freshman year: 2catches for 2 TDs, then missed the rest of the season with a foot injury

Year 2 coming off a foot injury, he had 646 yards sharing balls with AJ Brown.

Then this past year, had 569 in just 7 games before going down with a neck injury.

He never even played 2 full seasons at Ole Miss.

So is Jeffrey Simmons overrated?  7 sacks in 3 seasons?

All of a sudden a guy missing lots of games to injury is being spun into a positive. I get it, the guy looks like a Greek god and he tests like a track and field Olympian. But he's raw as hell and sure seems injury prone.

I listed his stats for his career. Does that say top 10 pick?  Simmons is double teamed every play. His stats dont lie

Im not saying he's not, he's raw as he11.  Thus the reason ive been comparing him to Damaryius Thomas the whole time vs the Julio Megatron comparisons.

But GMs will see all that talent and drool and want to grab him

I agree.

Someone's going to pick him thinking they're getting the next Calvin Johnson. I'm not sure what they're actually going to get, but I don't think it's going to be the next Calvin Johnson.

Honestly, I'd expect Cordarrelle Patterson and if I got more I'd be thrilled, but if you draft this guy thinking you're getting Megatron or Julio Jones right out of the gates I think you're gonna be really, really disappointed.

Also, I am lauding A J Brown from Ole Miss who is going to be all pro. I think he is that good. Larry Fitzgerald good

You his stats for his career is a reason why then ignore he's only played 1 full season there

Then use a excuse for Simmons

And just think about this, Thomas had nearly double the college production of Metcalf while playing in a triple option offense.

See I think Brown is more product of the system, a little slow.  I just cant shake a Treadwell comparison

How can Brown be the product of a system while a far superior athlete is supposedly this elite NFL WR prospect while doing far less in that same WR friendly offense?

No excuse on Simmons. Hes a DT that was near the top of the SEC for tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Again, AJ is the better player. If you want to ride the DK train, be my guest. He will be a bust

Thomas also played how many more games.

Metcalf didnt even play 2 season

Thomas played 39 games, and was their only guy really being targeted

Metcalf play 21 sharing the ball with several other guys

This is kind of my point.. how much did you really get to see of D.K if he was barely on the field...

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
