Can help Saints let us win. U think they was going to really help us by winning! This stupid 9 or 16 crap is ridiculous, how many times people they was not trying to win!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we shouldn’t have tried to win either. We came out guns blazing and Ron realized too late a loss would be better

Somebody is going to snatch Zach Allen and put that 285lbs to work. You can't teach big. You can teach big how to play like a Panther. Put Luke in charge of the BC guy. I wouldn't be mad at Allen at 16, because at 16 he may just be a reality.

We will be able to nab him in the second and maybe even the third. I like him and think he could be a solid rotational player but he isn't a home run first rounder we're used to with Hurney

lol, Allen is not worth the 16th pick. Big and unathletic is not what we need right now.

Yeah, but at DE at pick 16...

If QB's go high there will be a feasting of DE directly in front of our pick.

A DT may be there at 16.

Yeah, I think Allen basically projects as a bigger version of Wes Horton. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it's not something that you want to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on IMO, especially in this deep DL/EDGE draft. Allen would become intriguing to me in the 3rd.

Totally agree. I'd take the best DT to fall thus far. Hurney has NEVER drafted a DT in the 1st so this should be interesting. Has he learned anything? A replacement for Star would be prudent.

If they want a DE they have to pay up, one way or another. Quality DE's will likely be gone, too much talent in this draft, too many teams need em'.

As I've said before, if I'm not Jerry, I'm going for it this draft. Don't waste Cams good years not having a great Dline to keep him and the offense on the field, winning.

Pressure wins Superbowls.

I’m fine with OL if it’s someone like Williams who is the BPA and help give us some certainty there past this year as well as help patch the one weakness at LG this year, but I much prefer we get one of the top DEs that could and really likely will fall to us.

If your source is legit, I think this is a great sign that Cam is going to be in our long term plans. Seems like they are trying to protect him which is good news for Cam. I just hope the Oline we draft isn't a bust. Olineman in round 1 scares me, because they are hit and miss and you can easily get quality Olineman in later rounds.

I like it that we are looking to protect Cam by focusing on the Oline this offseason. Hopefully he bounces back this year.

I think protecting your QB is a good idea no matter who that QB is. It's just a novel concept for the Panthers who have consistently over-relied on Cam's abilities on offense. I'd feel a lot better about this plan if I felt better about the top of this OL class. IMO, the strength of this OL class is the depth, not the talent at the top. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the better OL out of this class end up being the mid-rounders.

I really don't think he drops into the third. People can say whatever but he's already NFL weight and height, plug and play baby.

I wouldn't take him at 16. My thing is that this is the best Dline draft in a while so if they don't want to move up to get a DE I could live with a beastmode DT.

People says guys are gonna drop, I just don't think so. DE is just as high value as QB and everybody above 16 will get their pick.

There's just nothing impressive about Allen IMO. Very pedestrian measurables and he looked like a JAG during Senior Bowl week. He's probably an NFL JAG. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is if you're talking about spending a 1st or 2nd round pick on a guy. If someone wants to take him in the 1st or 2nd let them. I think he'll probably he a decent rotational NFL DL that offer more in terms of run support and occupying blockers than he does in pass rush. 3rd at the earliest IMO and I'm honestly not sure if I'd be excited about him with our first 3rd rounder.

I also agree about chase winovich. I think if he's there in the second for us it would be a miracle. If we can get burns or sweat, and double down with winovich that would be tough... And then draft an o lineman in the 3rd and 6th. Or something.

Yep, even if we took Sweat or Burns in the 1st I'd still run to the podium at #47 for Winovich. We don't have a single proven EDGE rusher on the roster past this coming season.

    • Ehhhh I hate 3 out of the four but harbor special hatred for the two afc squads
    • If you want to say DJ ran a lazy route, fine. But that throw was garbage. There was a window just outside the hash marks but that ball was thrown damn near to the sideline. I don't know what route DJ was supposed to run but if you're Ben Johnson you also have to know your QB in this situation. Williams is a gunslinger at heart and any points on this drive wins you the game. You gotta protect him from himself and be methodical. Draw up a deep shot and he's probably gonna uncork that thing whether it's there or not. There's also the reality that DJ might have been concussed. He took a hard hit on the sidelines earlier and spent several minutes in the tent and just never looked the same in that game after that. I put some blame all the way around on this one. DJ didn't run the greatest route and seemed to not be expecting the ball. Williams through a bad ball and tool an unwise risk at that point in the game. And Johnson set himself up to get show in his own foot by his gunslinger.
    • Statistically, Bryce should NOT be a starting QB, and the consistency shows that. He shows up against favorable secondaries, and disappears against good ones. Hopefully now the team is focused on giving him better receivers and the receivers will win games on their own, ala Steve Smith type receivers, and he won’t be as big of a liability. That’s asking a lot for a #1 overall pick QB to need that of course. Whe we just had a QB before Bryce that took teams to the playoffs with Brenton Bersin and Kaylin Clay as his top receivers
