I know I did my own personal write up earlier today but, this one came out like 20 mins ago and this guy is a far better writer and probably football eye than myself.  If your still on the fence and aren’t Garyed out it’s a Great read.

Rashan Gary is not only one of the most athletic defensive linemen in this draft class, he's one of the most athletic players at any position. The disconnect is between physical potential and on-field productivity; Gary played both inside and outside at Michigan and he was often played out of position. He's not an interior lineman in the NFL but an edge rusher, where he can use his quickness, speed and strength to out-maneuver offensive tackles.

Gary is way better than Sweat.

Man... I’m on the fence about that... I love Gary as you can see but I am also very high on Sweat. Either one I am good with, I feel because of Gary’s ability to play edge in 3-4 or 4-3 plus ability to play defensive tackle in a 4-3 he’s safer and a better pick. Sweat does have more production, and is probably a better pure pass rusher right now, my gut says Gary tho.

Fans worry too much about stats. Teams game planned for Gary every Saturdays. They doubled, tripled and whatever else with him. Gary is a nightmare for offensive line coaches.

Gary was tripled team and was still fighting on his feet. That’s friggn scary.

I love this, guy takes on the tight end and two pulling guards and sets the edge about a yard deep.  How was that not a tackle for a loss?  Luke or Shaq are making that tackle behind the line of scrimmage 9 times out of 10.

I haven't watched any film on Gary but if this is the reason why he's got low production, sign me up.  Need guys to do the dirty work to let our LBs roam.

Sweat seems stiff and overhyped cause of his 40time

Sweat is going to go early due to his on field production, which included double digit sacks in both years playing in the SEC. He simply solidified his status with a great Senior Bowl week and NFL combine.  Gary on the other hand has never put up numbers that make you think he is going to be any more than Taco Charlton. Hard pass on Gary.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
