^Almost as loud as Hornets Playoff games. LOL.

Can you stop this.. hockey is pigeonholed to a majority white demographic. There just isn’t enough numbers to support the claims that that single group of people is bigger than the that of basketball which is much more inclusive.

The average white North Carolinian is more involved with hockey right now, facts. Because the Canes are relevant. But, did you also look through the thread? The majority claiming that the Hornets were more relevant were in fact black people. To make matters worse, they then say they haven't seen any Canes gear in their part of the state, well duh. If you're going to hangout with black people, you won't see any black people wearing Canes gear. The majority of NBA fans are black people, that's also a fact. Simple as that. The majority of older white people want nothing to do with the NBA because it's 1. It's predictable. 2. Harder to watch (shittier) than what they grew up with, and 3. Not as fun as it used to be (Michael Jordan's Finals ratings are still the highest ever).

What’s the point of bashing other sports? Just support your local teams.

I love watching all team sports but if I didn’t like a certain one, I wouldn’t go around telling people why that is any lesser than the others.  I just won’t watch it but still root for them and hope they come out on top.  I love when the carolinas are being represented well.

I love the Hornets but saying they're more relevant than the Hurricanes is moronic.

The majority of NBA fans are mostly black but it’s much closer than you think. Add to the fact Basketball is about 3 times more popular than NHL and the numbers just don’t support your claims. A bad hornets franchise will still have more fans because the short is more inclusive and diverse thus more popular.

If you wanna say it’s more popular with white North Carolinians fine. And yes you will see more Hornets jerseys through Carolina than canes because they are part of a bigger brand. Kemba walker is a bigger brand than umm I can’t name a hurricane. And my demographic chart doesn’t even include Asian Americans who are also big basket ball fans.

The fact that hockey fans are 95-96% white you have to look up the population of racial diversity in North Carolina. I’m sure majority white but not all white guys are hockey fans which further limits that pool. Hornets draw from all racial bases so it should be easier for you to figure this one out. Stop the nonsense.

I've lived in North Carolina the majority of my life, and saying you see more Hornets stuff is false. Sure you see it in Charlotte. Other than that though? Hell no. I see more Canes gear. LOL. But. alrighty then sir.

Not a troll. Last weeks Playoff thread was in here. It's the offseason, Wow. Continue your trolling and posting shitty links. I'm sure it'll do wonders for you. You've been smoked on this Forum time, and time again. No wonder no one takes you serious.

You are Troll.. You didn't have to start a Canes playoff thread in the Panthers forum.. When you had a Canes playoff thread in the Canes forum??

Also your whole point of this thread was not to support the canes (because again you could have done that in the CANES FORUM) .. No you had to take shots at the Hornets and their fans??

You notice how basketball or football  fans don't care  to compare ourselves to hockey or soccer fans.. But you seem to always want to with us...

Just saying it seem you really need attention.. That's why you started 2 hockey threads on the Panthers forum.. Because you need the biggest fan base in the state to notice you...

How sad...

NHL is by far the most diverse sport in terms of countries represented, FWIW

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
