Thats one way to address a glaring need

Haynes is going to be a decent player this year---I do not understand how anyone can evaluate him when we were in a 4-3 a lot and he did not have a jersey.  Give him a chance--he has some college production.

Miller, however, might be our 4th round steal this year.  Yes, he has an injury history, but often some good luck and technique training is enough to cure that.  Irvin, Addison, Burns, Miller, Haynes--with 2-3 solid DEs (5 techs), that could be impressive.

I also expect to see Thompson and Carter to do well in this system.

One more deal......Miami is shopping Reshaud Jones.....a very good safety(probably better known as a SS) and is willing to eat some cap. They are deep at safety.....thin at DT.  Trade Poe straight up and they eat 8,000,000 in cap.  their # doesnt change.....neither does ours....they fill a need and so do we.....both are on 1 year deals.

So you want to trade our starting NT so we can start two strong safeties?

I keep forgetting about Bruce Irvin. Is he a factor? I don’t know much about his production

Veteran of the type of things we want to do and has been adamant about wanting to help young guys. I'd say yes

you choose to shop Poe over Butler? Miami would love to get that contract off of their books, and taking on Butler would give them cap relief heading into 2020.

However, this is not an option for us. We are already have a high price safety.

I don't see why we would want to wreck our NT depth for a redundant and expensive player. Sure, Poe and Butler are not exactly stellar but who would we be replacing them with?

The ship has sailed for cutting or trading guys like Poe and Butler. It's a luxury that we don't have and if that was the plan, it would have been executed prior to the draft.

I don't understand the obsession with cutting everyone on the team right as we are hitting camp. That's a next year discussion for a lot of these guys, not a this year discussion.

I agree with you here. I was stating if someone wanted to continue wiht the blasphemous idea of trading a player, why go to one that makes zero sense.

I second your comment. There is no point to trade anyone. Ron's defense is where he wants it to be. We will grab a safety after Pre-Wk 3 if we need one.
