Panthers uneasy with Gano

Downside to keeping Gano on IR all year is, to quote The Dire Straits, money for nothin'

True, but considering the guarantees, we'd only be paying an extra $1 million this year compared to cutting him, so I'd look at it more as taking out a $1 million insurance policy in case Slye struggles significantly in the regular season. And given how important the kicking game is, I'm not sure we have a considerably better use for that $1 million.

You shouldn’t miss 12 PAT’s in four years.

I know they’re longer now, but nobody has missed more.

That's the emotionally attached (i.e., personal bias against Gano) take....

In order to make the best decision possible all personal biases must be eliminated from the decision making process, and it's clear most folks cannot do this.

One of the biggest mistakes of the Panthers was to choose the OG Gano over our DRAFT pick Harrison Butker. Gano might win us meaningless games with impressive kicks but when its go time he has failed over and over. He has hamstring issues. Its something we have to address within the next couple years again.

Sunk cost.  Stop whining about it.

Looking forward is all that matters at this point in time.

What matters at this point in time is that were looking at the potential of making the same mistake again.

Really don't want to see that happen.

dont make the same mistake we did letting go of Butker. Gano's main strength is his leg strength which is devalued by the change in kickoff rules and therefore not worth his cap hit. i'd like to see us be more aggressive on 4th down in the midfield area anyway instead of settling for 45+ yard FGs as often as we do.

You've been gone a while so I just want to point out that that guy is really annoying. I think I have a good idea on whose alt he is. Spamming the board with nonsense
