Trade for OL depth?

Not that depth is a issue but the talent level is. After watching us during the preseason no one should be comfortable with this level of play. So as we walk into the best defensive front we have faced all (season and preseason) what are we doing to ease these concerns? Are we gonna just say they will be fine? Because I look at the Patriots whom I don't think their line play has been as bad as ours.

But they have already made 3 offensive lineman trades this week! Nothing top tier but they have been throwing 5-7 draft picks at the problem and scoop potential successors from other teams instead of hoping for cuts. I love an active gm that sees a problem and sets out to correct it. My thing is are we gonna wait till cam gets knocked out another game before we act? Are we just sitting on our hands and ignoring we Have a problem?

The backup situation at OT ain’t pretty.

Are we even sold on the starters at this point? William's didn't blow me away this preseason... gvr and even pardis looked a little iffy.. hopefully that gets better with time. But I would definitely not bank on it and do nothing.

The value of decent lineman has gone up tremendously. For the most part, teams are hesitant to part with players. That said, the o line is a single unit, not just any player can necessarily come in and improve.

The Dolphins just rejected Clowney and a first for Tunsil, just goes to show how hard it is to pry guys away via trade. Equally as good a bet is find a guy that didn't fit on a team that released him.

There's five starters on our line, with maybe seven good knees between them...

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
