Agreed but that’s quickly changing with the Ravens. Lamar Jackson is gonna break every QB rushing record in the books. He’s so fun to watch.

Maybe. He’s more fragile than Cam though and I highly doubt he comes near Cam’s rushing TD records.

Looks like Cam is stepping away from football to me for at least a week.  Sounds like he’s not mentally there.

I’m thinking this may be the case too. Even Ron said he’s been “low” since Thursday. Probably taking a short break to get healthier and see if he can find renewed motivation and love for the game. It has definitely appeared to be lacking this season.

Exactly... he may approach the rushing yards, but he's not going to sniff the rushing TD's.

And I simply don't think he's near good enough as a passer to be effective long-term.  I watched him a lot in college.  His accuracy is not there, and he's still a one-read QB who struggles reading defenses.

Nobody is going to confuse him anytime soon for an elite QB... exciting, yes... MVP talent, absolutely not

so he was at the airport last night but on espn ron reported earlier he was getting treatment all weekend?  hmmmmm

They do have doctors and physical therapists in other places besides Charlotte. Also pretty sure Cam can afford to bring someone to wherever he went.

Having watched a decent amount of Lamar this year, he has gotten way better at reading defenses. Like night and day. He is not a one read and take off QB this year like he was last year.

I haven’t watched him a lot but it does seem he’s made some strides as a passer this year. He was terrible last year and was way closer to being a RB playing QB than Cam or Vick ever were (as foolish people have suggested about them).

I think Cam is low about being 0-2 and injured, but I saw him before the Rams game on the field level, and he seemed to have as much enthusiasm and energy as ever.

I certainly don't know what's going on in his mind, and maybe he is trying to mask his frustration to be a good teammate.  This whole season has been bizarre from the start.

And yeah, that press conference did look like Rivera was resigning to his fate...

It just sucks...

He's also played the Dolphins and Cardinals so far, who look to have 2 of the worst defenses in the league.  The Dolphins especially are so devoid of talent, it's almost unfair to get to play them this year.

I need to see a much longer sample size before I think he's turned the corner.

He's got the Chiefs, Browns, and Patriots coming up... if he can do the same against those teams, I think it will be a clearer indication he's made strides.

And I don't hate Lamar Jackson... I just don't think he's nearly as good as Deshaun Watson or even Kyler Murray for that matter... but time will tell

Will Kyle Allen turn into our next Jake delhome?

That certainly would be a great thing. Kyle Allen's greatest asset to me this far (besides his pretty deep ball) is the fact that he does seem unflappable, which Rivera has alluded to multiple times.

My hesitation with the comparison to Jake is that while Allen does seem to be able to keep his composure, he doesn't have the same fiery nature Jake did (and Cam) that I think you need out of a leader.

Maybe Sunday will be different if Allen truly is going to be given the keya for an extended period of time.

I do agree we're going to have to be a lot more like the 2003 team if we're going to be successful with Allen.

Allen may be a lateral move from Cam as he is right now (and actually hoping the deep ball improves), but Allen isnt the unstoppable force Cam was before he got hurt and never will be... those guys just don't grow on trees.

The whole team around Allen is going to need to elevate their game for us to be successful.

This is already a weird season, and if Allen can win a couple of games, we can still be in it.

And I'm still hopeful Cam is not done for the year. I'm hoping this is a 2 week thing at most. But I have no idea.

Regardless, there are no excuses this week. Before the Dolphins self-induced destruction, the Cardinals were projected to be the worst team in the league.

This is a game we should win, and need to win to keep the wheels from falling off. Simple as that
