Let's just assume what we saw from Kyle Allen in two games of work is not an anomaly and representative of what we have; a young, franchise-QB level talent that we sign long-term at a decent bargain. 

This of course means Cam Newton and his $20m in cap is expendable next season. Boy, oh boy, can you imagine the things we could buy with this new found money? Maybe an offensive line? More DB help? Kyle Allen might provide us the change to tear this thing all down and painless as possible and manage to compete next year instead of a long rebuild.

There's a lot of problems with this premise

1. It's a poor assumption that we would get a "decent bargain" if, as you're also assuming, he maintains this level of success. If he plays like this every single week then we would be spending a lot of money to keep him as QB needy teams will reach and likely offer more than a "bargain". The only way we get a bargain is if Hurndog was smart enough to have him in a meeting right now signing a deal (which would be a rather reactive decision and open to a lot of criticism).

2. Cam's $20 million next year is unfortunate even if he were balling out right now. It's possible they could restructure in extension talks but I don't know why Cam would agree to losing that kind of money unless he really wants to stay in Charlotte.

3. Massive misunderstanding of this franchises issues. Our lack of OL, DB help, and other issues have very little to do with cap issues. Cap issues might not help but our poor mismanagement is the bigger issue. Numerous times we could have made legitimate moves to improve the OL but we keep throwing money at the DL and guys like Lil Kalil.

We're better off with high draft picks and new coaches/GM than an Allen lead team with Ron and Hurn still in control. They'll draft a fuging DT in the first round and linebacker in the second round.
