Sherrod Martin could start

Gamble is athletic enough to limit Fitz, but he won't be able to stop him all day I think.

I agree..

It was also be interesting to see if we blitz this week..with there WR and plus warner will stay in the pocket and still gets the ball out.I remember last year.we got pressure on him but he was still making plays.

I know we all complained about Gamble not being on Fitz last go round....for some strange reason I wouldn't mind Captain getting some time w/ him. He is by far the most aggressive of the bunch.

Hopefully Martin shows us something to justify his pick....maybe he will show more in his natural spot.

As Much as I like Munnerlyn and respect his Skill. But the dude can not outjump Fitzgerald. It's just not gonna happen. Fitzgerald has probably 8 inches on him, add in the fact than even with a 40 in vertical, there's just no way. .. Unless Warner underthrows it

well, I think by end of next year Gamble won't be considered the best Carolina CB....if the current trio is all still here.

2 rookies and a first year starter (Martin, Munnerlyn, Marshall- they need a nickname- "3 Ms" or something). vs. Boldin, Warner, Fitz, (and Breaston).

its going to be a very long sunday evening.

They will only be as good as the pressure is.....you just know Fox thinks backwards....Instead of bringing tons of heat to help them be better....he won't bring much heat and leave them out to dry. That make piss me off more than Jake stinking it up....b/c at least Jake only plays QB poorly....Fox has the ability to mess up both sides.

i'm excited about this developement at least.

i'm already expecting a loss on sunday, and i'm expecting our season will remain on the bumpy road it has been on for the rest of the year.

what excites me now, at least a little, is seeing how some of our younger players perform. they were drafted to be our future afterall, so maybe we'll have something to smile about on sunday. Martin did get like 3 picks in one quarter in college, right? maybe he's the ballhawk we've been waiting for.

just as moore can't be worse than delhomme, can martin be any worse than Godfrey?

but if he brings heat..wont that make his job harder because he is taking people and blitzing them?

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
