God forbid Samuel goes and plays with Brees, then maybe y'all will appreciate him.

Hof players do tend to raise the levels of guys they play alongside Why are people so concerned with what Samuel could do if things were different? No Hof QB is coming here this season. I am concerned with how he can help US not how he could hypothetically help our rivals.

It doesn't matter who's fault his underproduction is, he is here and we need to get more out of him

Theirs only one definition of being a one read QB. You throw it to your first read....

Also Norv hasn’t been running the same offense for a long time, this is really the first time Norv has embraced a more dink and dunk offense. Go ask Vikings fans about his famous 7 step drops.

you can go back to the Cowboy era and read articles from the 90s breaking things down.  Aikman has done it recently too.

This is most definitely not the first time Norv has embraced it.  A staple of the Aikman era was Aikman hitting his back plant and firing to the slant.  If not there? Troy was to immediately go to the RB checkdown.   That was the play.  Norv still has that as a staple in his offense today.   Basically the one read is the LB.    People blasted Cam for that. People are blasting Allen for that.  People blasted Troy Aikman for that simple poo too.

the notion that Norv's O is simply about the play action deep ball ignores a lot of what he has done in this league.  I mean his HCs and talent dictate a lot of what he does in different stops but the quick throw and check down game has been something Norv has been about for a long time.

as far as the 7 step drops? Norv has been forced away from that in part because he doesn't have the OLs but also few OLs can deal w/ the edge rushers in today's NFL.     But the dink and dunk aspect was always there.   He has pulled it out more for some than others.  But to say he just digs the deep ball I just disagree with.

You just said Aikman went through his reads...... Allen isn’t. While in Dallas Emmitt Smith only had over 400 yards receiving once, only had 60 receptions once so where are you getting this he’s checking down to his RB? And going back to 26 years to prove a point in an entire different era makes no sense, go look at his offense in SD, Cleveland and Minnesota l. All of it was deep drop vertical offense with little check down involved matter of fact they traded Sproles and he went on to have a career year with NO.

The reason Norv was fired from his last 3 jobs was cause his offense was out dated

One of the things I liked about the first drive against Jacksonville was that we got the ball into Samuel's hands running the ball to keep the defense hones.  He picked up 20 yards on 2 carries.

However, he doesn't seem to have developed the chemistry with Kyle Allen just yet.  He was targeted only 6 times and caught 3 passes for 19 yards.   He has only 19 receptions and 227 yds receiving through 5 games.  I strongly believe we need him to get involved more in the offense and utilize his quickness and play-making ability.

^^^This.  Two TDs today.  Probably could have been more effective with more touches.

Why a tall WR?  Is not like we are missing out out a ton of fade attempts.  Actually Samuel did just fine on his back shoulder/fade TD catch today.  We've tried the tall WR thing and with the speed of corners now, just being tall isn't good enough...getting open is 'catch'.

Diversity with your weapons.. You have speed guys and good route running and super in space guys.. A big WR who can win jump balls and be a big target in the red zone will take this team to another level..
