Argues Ron Rivera's longevity in the NFL is helped "When you have an elite QB like Cam Newton." Irony is this wasn't even a question on Cam but thoughts on Ron Rivera's potential franchise win record, so that should speak volumes of how highly Norv thinks of Cam.

Olsen will say vanilla comments in general, but his reaction on the field with some of Allen's decisions shows he favors Cam coming back. I haven't seen him showing that kind of reaction with any of Cam's decision making ever, and I've seen that multiple times with Allen.

You're right; we don't know what will ultimately happen. Whether it will be the right or wrong decision remains to be seen.

I mean I'm more surprised it's that big of a take to assume the Panthers are more likely to go back to Cam Newton than not if he's healthy.

Like sure, we can entertain the less likely outcome of Kyle Allen being the full time starter, but at this point signs are pointing to the obvious that Cam Newton - with more experience, better resume, and playmaking potential - is likely the starter this year when he's healthy.

You're concentrating only on the factors for one side while ignoring others.

Yes, Newton has more experience. He's also been hurt a lot recently and there are reasons to question his ongoing health.

Yes, he has a better resume'. That doesn't really matter though. The team has to look at the best option right now.

More playmaking potential? As a runner, yeah. Norv Turner's offense doesn't need a quarterback to be a runner. Troy Aikman sure as hell didn't scare anybody as a run threat.

And again, age, cap hit, injury history and other factors are all things you can try to ignore, but they're still there.

I get what you want to happen, Sac, and maybe it will.

But you should also be prepared for the possibility that maybe it won't.

Stretching comments? I mean, Norv literally pointed out Cam Newton out of nowhere on a question in relation to Ron Rivera and how he's driven their success.

I mean, the question on Cam hasn't been brought up much recently with Norv, but his comments have always been positive surrounding Cam and what he does for the offense for a long time. 

Don't think that changes. If we want to use film evidence, you can see the scheme more simplified to help Kyle Allen with much easier reads and progressions. Which is happenstance with a young and inexperienced QB like him. But due to that, the offense is more limited in comparison to the potential Cam Newton brings.

I'm just trying to be logical. I've already given my thoughts as objectively as possible in my other thread, so this assumption I'm purely doing this on a bias against Kyle Allen is funny for a 'fanboyism' in Cam. It's hard for me to believe a UDFA QB with six starts under his belt will perform better than a former ROTY, MVP, Superbowl appearance, multiple playoff winning QB in Cam Newton.

As a quarterback, he's gone beyond his first read and checkdowns and stepped up into the pocket. 

As a pocket passer, he's been better than Kyle on every level. I mean, if I have to go ahead and do a quick film session on that I'm more than willing to show evidence from his first two weeks if I have to.

Best option right now? Everything points to a healthy Cam Newton being far better than Kyle Allen, and it isn't even close.

Not withstanding cap issues in the future and/or the possibility cam isn't healthy. If his foot is healed up he's the better option and it shouldn't be a debate.

This isn't that subjective in anyway. I fail to see why you think this is me stating a pure homer fact when objectively reasoned out Cam should be the starter in this scenario based on Kyle Allen's play so far.
