Our best season was when we were #1 in turnovers by a nice margin and had a healthy OL. I love a healthy Cam but acting like Cam hasn’t had good Ds is just disingenuous. Defense laid an egg week 1 and Cam didn’t win it. Brady won SBs with top 5 Ds. Manning won his with his best Indy D and when Von Miller and the refs gifted him one. All QBs who win get defensive help. SF has the top or 2nd best D and it showed. Our D clearly isn’t on that level.

LOL

Interesting. Did I say something incorrect? Healthy Cam and we still get trounced.

Cam is 3-4 in the playoffs. 3 wins, D gave up 15, 16 and 24 (after being up 31-0). 4 losses, D gave up 23, 24, 31 and 31.

Again, acting like Ds don’t help QBs, including Cam, is just stupid.

LOL

yeah lets just ignore that whole superbowl..

Stay classy now

Kyle isn’t the only reason we lost the game. It was a total failure as a team. I mainly blame Ron because this is the second time he got a 50 burger put on him in a huge game with big stakes.

However this game just shows me that a healthy Cam would have made a big difference. He absolutely needs to start next week.

Hmm

We have a defensive HC don't we?

I hope Cam starts next week. I also really hope this team wins with him. BUT,  if we lose at home to a HORRIBLE ...let me repeat HORRIBLE Titans team in BOA, then Cam fans needs to follow him to his next team in free agency and leave this fan base alone.

No explanation needed...it's a concise enough statement.

If Cam had come back today & this happened, would you have made this thread for the Kyle fans?

ETA: My apologies, I didn't realize you'd already answered this question just before I posted it. You wouldn't have.

The poster who joined in March is talking about "Cam fans".

Oh, how convenient of you to point out 'join dates'.  How blissfully nice; I've joined and re-joined this cesspool for well over 16-years.  It's guys like you why I haven't been a consistent contributor this entire time.  I can only stand tripe for so long before I need a break.  I was probably a Panthers fan before you were born or while still costing your parents a small fortune in diapers.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
