There was no excuse for the defense we saw Sunday however the offense does two things for the defense, it keeps them off the field and establishes momentum. We almost stopped them on the first drive and all but should have but a lucky fluke where the ball fell into Kittles hands derailed it. That is as deflating as anything including all the flags. If Kyle had hit Samuel on that deep ball in the end zone does our D come out with more passion?

It was more then that, Keek even had a interception while we were still in the game, also saying cam makes a difference.

That ridiculous play by Kittle basically signified what we were in store for, anyone that's seen enough Panthers football over the years knows what I'm talking about. We got walked all over from the word go, the team looked like they never even really stepped off the plane.

You can obviously argue that execution was a problem, but that kind of loss with that much time to prepare is a very poor reflection on the coaching staff. Especially one helmed by a head coach that has been in and around the league since the 80's.

Our defense has GOT shore up it's run defense. We can get all the sacks in the world but it doesn't mean poo if we keep getting gashed for huge 10+ yard runs.

our D isn't that bad unless we face an O coordinator that knows how to scheme against luke.  saints, rams, 9'ers...  they all use luke's knowledge against him.   luke runs right to where the play is supposed to go, but with great O coordinators that's not where the play is going now and luke goes to the wrong place.    this isn't new.   its been going on for years.

Worst game I have ever seen Luke play. Several times he had no idea where to go, it was bad. Really, really bad.

Very true and Luke directs the defense and usually does it so well everyone completely trusts his judgment. Maybe he will learn from this game that whats on tape isnt always whays executed. However to put it all on the one player on D that made alot of special plays is crazy.

go back and look at the rams game this year.   go watch payton abuse him in our saints games they need to win.

he hasn't learned yet and its been going on for years.

      I think the ‘issue’ here is that we had two guys that clashed for several reasons. In some ways they were different, but in other ways they had a lot in common, and sadly they couldn’t see the forest for the trees. Sometimes when you have two people like that together they are either going to love or hate each other, and if it’s the latter, you need someone to mediate and hope the two individuals are capable of putting their differences aside for the common good. In this instance, they couldn’t find a way to move forwards together because I don’t think either guy wanted to play second fiddle to the other. This video basically said neither guy had the tools to bridge that gap and mend that fence, and perhaps also were unwilling to give an inch at that stage in their lives and careers. So a divorce, while unfortunate, was always likely. Do we win the Super Bowl with Smitty and Cam? Well, it’s one of life’s big what ifs for us Panthers fans.

      Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
