why the hell would the Panthers dump Cam when he only has One year left on his deal....may as well let him play it out and at least evaluate him at 100 percent

because that's what cam wants.   it is insulting to ask him to play on a prove it deal.   that's what he's probably been told the team stance is.   i agree with the stance but you gotta see it from cam's point of view also.   sheffty's source had to be cam's camp the first time he said he was gonna start practicing.   i'm guessing this, if it has any validity, is from cam's camp also.   and it just says that's how he's leaning right now.   even the cam-stans want him on a prove it deal.   cam's a mixed bag for me and i can see how it would be insulting.

Rodrigue made it pretty clear that if they put Newton on IR, it's because they don't believe he's coming back this year.

And let's be real. If you genuinely don't believe that, what would be the point of having him take up a roster spot?

Did they put him on IR?

his leadership and importance to the team.

what would be the benefit of putting him on IR? so we can carry an extra 8th WR who won't play?

Without naming names.  QB A loses 9 in a row, QB B wins 6-1 with the same roster.  Is this a coincidence?  Or is there enough data to say who is better?

how many MVP awards do each of them have

more than we'll ever have with kyle allen

You can't predict Kyle Allen's future.

But with that said, it doesn't matter.

You could create a film study that conclusively shows Kyle Allen is the worst quarterback in NFL history, and it wouldn't make Cam Newton younger, wouldn't take away the damage his body has suffered, wouldn't lower his cap figure and wouldn't erase the questions about his ability to stay healthy for future seasons.

If the team parts ways with Newton, it'll be for those reasons, not anything to do with Kyle Allen, Will Grier, Ron Rivera or anybody else.

And yes, it's a real possibility.
