IF we do fire Rivera, this definitely seems the year to do it.

So I was looking at teams across the league, and it looks as though only a handful of teams will be firing head coaches this year, unlike years past where several to sometimes 8 or 9 teams had HC positions open, this year I count a few.

Here are the teams I see firing their head coach.

Giants

Falcons

Lions

Chargers

There might be one or two other ones but my point is, a lot less coaching openings means we would have a wider net of candidates so to speak, not only that but besides the Falcons, we might be the most attractive landing spot.

Firing of a coach is not based on how things are going through the league of the trend!!??its based on your own team and staff!! Rivera has had positive career over Fox.. I think he’s better than Fox cuz he was just as damn stubborn.. but it’s time to move on I think Ton knows it!! Trapper probably gave him record that has to be met.. I am sure that’s not been met unless we win out!! Do writing is on the wall!!

Other teams should have no bearing on if we fire our coach

I don’t think he was talking about other firings impacting whether we fire Rivera, but about how big the potential pool of candidates might be if we did. Personally I’m not in favor of hiring someone who just got canned, but that seems to be the way the NFL works a lot of times.

I don’t see Chargers or Lions getting rid of Lynn and Patricia. Anthony Lynn deserves to come back. Patricia suck but I think he’ll get another chance just because of his pedigree. And I really don’t think Quinn is the bad of a HC. If he can win 6-7 games I see him staying.

Ron is a great coach. All this talk about firing him is silly. I would extend Ron and give him a better QB. If Cam gave us more seasons similar to his MVP season (or close), Ron would have given us a SB already. Coaches ride the forms of their best QB. When you take out the cheating Pats coach, Ron is right there with the best of them: Mike Tomlin, Jim Harbaugh(rode Flacco's insane year to a SB), Pete Carol (rode 2 crazy years of the LOB).

    • The good news is that we are pretty uniquely well established to address all of our needs this season. We have $14m real cap space, and something like $40m in trade deadline cap space. Not sure exactly how that works out. But, we have the room to absorb any bad contracts. With recent rule changes regarding retention, that went into effect this season, we now have a huge advantage in the trade market.  On top of that, while we do have obvious needs, we also have a glut of talent in certain areas that we struggle to find ice time for. We are over-stocked on scrappy talented lil-guys, strong defensively sound 3rd liners and shutdown left shot dmen. Whether it's a package or separate deals, idk. But, one of each from Stank/Blake/Nads, Erob/Carrier/KK/Jank, and Walker/Nystrom; throw in some 1st round picks (and frankly any other prospects they want) and we should be able to come out with a 1b to pair with Bussi and either a 2c with size or a 2c and size.   TL/DR We got the money, you got the stuff?
    • I don’t  think 6’4 was ever considered small or undersized. Baby hands tho, yes that was his thing That’s an interesting idea, like an optical illusion? Sounds like you have personal experience with this!
    • in the 25' draft the Carolina Panthers had hired Brandt Tillis someone who actually understood how to build a successful team & build through the draft .  this team was yes mismanaged for years prior to Brandt Tillis joining the team in 25' & rarely done anything right in the draft outside occaionaly getting lucky on an UDFA such as Jalen Coker who's dad coincidentally happened to be a huge Carolina Panthers fan, hint hint  ...just saying
