Outside of rainbows, puppy dogs and plain old wishful thinking, your avid sports fans realizes that.  Yes, one in a while a new coaching staff comes in and sets the League ablaze.  So to your point, it sounds like he's addressing the fair weather fans.

I would assume that the people that spend the most money on the Panthers (PSL owners) understand that we have been dog poo for a while, and understand that we need new leadership in place to even possibly be good at some point in the future.

It's not rocket science.

I've seen a few people talk recently about how the majority of the franchises in the league are mediocre as well, so comparatively speaking we're not necessarily that bad.

I'll grant that's valid, but I don't really wanna be like those teams.

I want us to adopt the commercial slogan that just okay is not okay.

The NFL makes it hard to be good, but easy to make money.  Maybe most of the owners care about something other than winning?

That's still not relative success, and certainly nothing that us, as fans, should be proud about.

So your saying that the Browns, Lions, Jets, Cardinals, Bengals, Chargers, Bills, Jags, Texans etc... should stop being fans of those clubs and jump on the Pats bandwagon since they have been the gold standard of "better than mediocre?"  Look I'm not saying us fans should settle for an average organization, but it sure doesn't mean just desert the team either.  That's unless you just want to be associated with a winner. I know the type, that's THE definition of a bandwagon fan.

I wouldn't abandon the Panthers for another organization, I'd just go back to being a general NFL fan watching good matchups and rooting more for favorite players more so than teams, just like I did prior to the Panthers drafting Peppers.

I always have a hard time accepting that argument because you make more money by winning.

Granted, you can still make good money without it, but not as much.

And for whatever else you think of Tepper, his whole "what I care most about is winning" thing is something I believe to be the truth. He's too competitive for it not to be.

Yep, create a consistent winner and then talk about shafting the tax payers with a new stadium.  Very premature on his part and right now extremely unpalatable.

He's getting the headquarters though.

Frankly, the more I read about that, the more I think "Tepper World" is going to be built to outdo Jerry World.

No, I'm telling those fanbases to stop going to the games.  Stop spending money on the teams.  Stop allowing the owners of those organizations to continue their decades of mismanagement and foolish decisions.

Watch the game, root for your team, but make sure that the owner is feeling the heat vs. being able to sit back and look at a fully packed out stadium with a 3-9 record on the year with no chance at winning your division.

Like I said, winning is hard, but making money is easy in the NFL....make it harder to do so until the ownership repays the favor by putting good leadership together, spending the money, and making the tough choices that lead to winning teams.

Don't think it's a lot to ask, and no thank you, I won't be switching teams.
