Honestly, i'd be weary of using Cam that way anyway. He's already been beaten down so many years. Going to that offense where Jackson does so much rushing...if we had 21 YO Cam. Sure. I'd like to see that type of offense but only in situational events. When you know you need 1 yard. Cam is automatic in those situations and I can't remember when he's been stopped. If Roman comes here but utilizes the threat of Cam, basically balancing his ability as a runner but not exploiting it to the point where Cam will break down again, and incorporate CMC, Moore, and future weapons. I'm all for it.

I'd hate to see Cam get broken down again.

There are a few draft eligible QBs this year that'd probably fit the mobile WCO prototype pretty well.

Eh, possibly. I don't think it will be that often. TBH, I think the NFL successfully muddied the waters enough in their Kaep PR stunt that he probably won't show up on an NFL team radar again.

See my post above.

Depending on where he goes and where they draft, Roman would at least conceivably have a decent chance to draft a good, mobile WCO style QB in the first round this year.

Why go after a 32 year old who's missed three seasons when you can draft a young one and grow with him instead?

Lemme throw another scenario at ya, one that'll probably be popular with LSU fans.

Suppose we hire Dan Campbell. He's gonna want an OC.

There are guys to choose from on the Saints staff, but there's also a kind of intriguing prospect that used to be on the Saints staff, but is currently working at the college level with a certain Louisiana based QB.

He and Campbell would be acquainted from working on the Saints staff together.

Something to think about...

Yeah, regardless of what the NFL did to Kaep, not many teams are gonna be looking at 32 year old, medicore QB's with 3+ years out of the league.

Exactly. The heavy run attack they employ that relies heavily on Jackson's running won't work and is like going back to Shula which everyone hated for beating Newton down.

Head Coach-Greg Roman

General Manager-Kevin Colbert

My wildcard for offensive coordinator or rolling the dice on a head coach don't see it happening but i'm gonna throw it out there what about Joe Brady for LSU!

I think you have a better chance at getting Brady if you hire Dan Campbell as the head coach. They've worked together before.

What are your thoughts on which team Cam will play for next year?

Clearly you are convinced it will not be the Carolina Panthers...

...your top-3 and why as to where he will land?

Don't know.

The Bears are the only team getting heavy speculation right now and he's said to wanna play there, so maybe.

Beyond that, we'll probably hear about it when the time comes.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
