Interesting comment from Belichick

Could possibly be related to Caserio and/or McDaniels now or at some point down the road...

Remember that Caserio was set to take the Texans GM job last year (now said to no longer be available) when the Patriots effectively blocked it by lobbing tampering charges that turned out to be bullsh-t. Caserio was said to be pissed.

Likewise, McDaniels has been in the position of heir apparent to Belichick for years and likely withdrew from consideration for the Colts job with that being one of his expectations. Now there's talk that Belichick might not be so ready to go just yet.

It's not an accident that Belichick has a rep for being one of the most vindictive a--holes in the NFL. If the two of them leave for the Panthers or another team, things could get... interesting.

What's the worst he could do, spy on our SB practices again?

He can't effectively block either interview if we request them.

He did an end run with the tampering charges last year to keep Caserio from leaving, but given that those were determined to have no merit, I seriously doubt that's gonna work again.

May not be a lot that he can do, but I certainly won't put it past him to try.

And if the end result does leave him fuming, I'll laugh my ass off.

The way McDaniels left the Colts holding their dicks in their hands, I don't know that I'd want the guy as a HC.

I might not either, but Tepper being friends with Bob Kraft definitely influences things.

There have been rumors that things aren't exactly smooth between Kraft and Belichick for a while now. Who knows how that plays out?

Greg Roman.

Can't believe they let Lane Kiffin slip away without so much as an interview.....lol.

I think Roman would be a very viable candidate. Stefanski too, although he hasn't been successful for as long as Roman or McDaniels have.

The big wild card for me is how much that connection to Kraft is going to count. Plus it's been confirmed that we already inquired about both McDaniels and Caserio last year. Gotta figure that plays into the scenario as well.
