We're going to give CMC a 20 million dollar second contract because he's extremely popular with the Carolina fanbase and sells tickets, but it's going to cripple us as he declines like every rb after the age of 25

What RB could not catch the kind of passes CMC catches ..

He leaks out and catches little dump downs, any RB can do that .. people talk about CMC the receiver like he is schooling CB's downfield - he catches dump offs - Scarlett could do what CMC does

he’s a good route runner and he’s very good in space. yeah many running backs could put up 100 catches if they were force fed in the same way but he’s pretty good at maximizing those catches.

He has the most “draft capital” on the team. Trade him for a bunch of picks including a few firsts. 
By the time we are relevant again, he will either be up for a deal we can’t afford or he will be a shell of himself because  we have ran him into retirement.

 Don’t get me wrong, he’s amazing, however if you are going to rebuild, you need more bodies.

i’m ok with trading him, especially if we’re going to rebuild, but not for whatever reasons you’re coming up with.

edit for clarification: would prefer to keep him if cam returns and we hire an innovative offensive mind to be the head coach
