From everything I’ve read I think Bieniemy first and McCarthy second would be a good decision. McDaniels scares the hell out of me, Rhule doesn’t have enough NFL experience, and Fewell is more of the same old garbage as before.

I still don't have a favorite, but not Fewell.

There are pros and cons to all the current candidates. There's none that would make me celebrate, but also none that would make me run screaming into the night.

I feel the same so far. I plan on doing more research on all candidates today.

Are you suggesting that it is a 2-horse race?  Between these 2, McDaniels.  I think (based on the perception of the urgency they are going about this selection) that McDaniels (who is interviewing on Jan 10) is the coveted coach.

I see a few other teams dragging their feet a bit as well (Cleveland, maybe Dallas).

I think McDaniels is doing the interviews--finding out about the owners (sorry Cleveland and Dallas, strike one) and how much power they will have.

McDaniels is a prick---and so are Bill Belichick and Sean Payton. McDaniels has an offensive mind--went to the playoffs with The Golden Calf of Bristol.

A New GM in Denver (Elway) immediately fired McDaniels and the move has been somewhat criticized because the prior GM drafted The Golden Calf of Bristol.  That is when Fox because a Bronco.  So yes, McDaniels was fired and the Denver situation got away from him, but with a bad front office and questionable talent, the cards were stacked against him.

The more I think about it, the more I think McDaniels is the guy.

@Mr. Scot are you planning on doing any profiles this year?

I've started to, and might even work on it today, but I have to admit I'm less enthusiastic about it this year than I have been in prior years.

I wouldn't say I'm indifferent, but like I said above I don't necessarily find any of this year's choices all that thrilling.

Plus this search seems a little freewheeling, so may as well wait until it is completed and then write ONE profile.

There is some evidence to suggest the target is McDaniels and everybody else is "just in case".

I don't know if that can definitively be said, but it's not farfetched.
