Huddle Gamers - Discord Server

Hey everyone!

From time to time, I've seen people searching for people to play games with. It's always more fun playing with people you know so I figured it would be a good idea to create a Discord server for us to connect! I'm hoping to keep it pretty laid back. It's my first server so it's pretty basic right now. There's voice channels for different games and a few of your basic text channels. I'm always open for suggestions, so feedback is welcome.

If you're interested, click the link below and let's get gaming!

So, um...I'm new at this. Apparently, everyone who tried to join probably didn't see much. I just invited a friend of mine and he couldn't do jack poo on the server. I then went and saw that about nine people from the huddle have joined. I've given you all Huddler permissions on the server. You should be able to do something now. Let me know what other problems you guys see!

Good to know I wasn't the only one.  It looks like it's working now.

What games has everyone been playing during the great quarantine?  I picked up Anno 1800 for half off from Uplay.  Fun game if you're into city builders.  Definitely an easy way to waste a lot of time.

Anno 2070 is possibly my all time favorite strategy game. At least up there with 4x space empire games and HoMaM: III.

Haven’t been able to play 1800 yet though.

I played the older Anno games, 1602 1701 and 1404, they were all great.  1404 probably my favorite.  I picked up 2070 a few months ago on sale cheap, but haven't played that one much yet

1404 was great. 2205 was alright, just not as well defined as I had hoped. I’ve been playing Frostpunk in the spare time. Pretty damn fun and hard as fug, like anno once one thing spirals out of control the whole thing blows up.

Joined. Anyone play CSGO?

I know of at least one guy who does, Jesus Jones. He’s always trying to get me and another guy to play but then tells us it wouldn’t be fun for us since we’ve never played before. I sort of believe him though;  he’s been playing for years.  He’ll play with you for sure.

    • This is gonna be longest six weeks ever
    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
