Williams just needs 50 yards a game.....

He may end up surpassing a lot of his statistics from last year simply because we need him so much more now than we have in the past. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is the lack of long runs from him but that's a minor complaint at best.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see a 1700+yd season out of him this year based on how much his production ramped up towards the end of last year.

It's shaping up like last year tbh. The bigger runs and longer sustained run filled drives are starting to show up more near the end of the year. However unlike last year, we got off to a horrible start. Hopefully if the stars align and the other NFC teams beat each other up, we can go into the playoffs peaking and not playing flat. If not, at least we can be spoilers. Either way, football >>>>> every other sport.

No doubt he will do that. But 1K yards isn't a big deal anymore. He is the best back in the NFL. May not be with the best team and situation but he is the best back around. Sucks you guys have him.

agreed its not a big deal to get 1000 yards......thats 62 yards a game for 16 games.....not alot to ask from (imo) one of the best rbs in the league

i dont know for sure, but i think only 8 RB's from last year went over 1000 yards.

its still hard to do.

1,000 yards is an even bigger deal now than it was 4 or 5 years ago. The NFL learned from their mistakes by leaning on players to carry the ball 350-400 times a season and how that impacted their body. In this day and age, you'd have to be stupid to give a HB over 300 carries and expect them to do anything productive the next year.

Thus, the two HB system was formed where you need two guys to carry the rock in order to maximize your success.

1k yards is a big part of a rushing attack, especially with a tandem of backs. Sucks that you suck cock.

Williams will get his 1000 this season, that's for sure. I'd really like to see Stewart get 1000 as well though. It's only been done 3 times, and not since 1985. That would be the end-all to the best backfield argument.

Off topic though, I find it funny how other teams fans can't relate to this team. Anytime I talk to someone who doesn't know us, they always go to the QB first, but our team is one of the view that is centered around our backs, not our QB.

IMO we also need to get both of these guys more passes out of the backfield. Watching the colts offense the other day, they do a great job turning these short passes into 5-8 yards.

Which is a prime reason why this offseason will not be a rebuilding as much as a reloading.

All we need is a QB and we have a competitive team for a couple year: Whether that qb is a vet or a young qb

    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
