Holding penalties down almost 60%

It's pretty much an annual thing for people to say "why aren't they calling holding?"

Well this year, they're not.

It was mentioned a while back that the league had directed refs to basically only call flagrant penalties. Teams that knew how to get away with holding were expected to be huge beneficiaries of that, and it looks like that's happening. It's also very likely to continue because the league wants more scoring.

He's so badly out of position on most plays that he couldn't hold even if he wanted to. He's not close enough to grab them.

Part of Little's profile has always been that he reaches for guys when he shouldn't. 

Holding works best when you can keep it in close because it's harder to see.

Don't think it's gonna help Little much.

I thought I was crazy but I have noticed a lot more games in the 30-40 points range for both teams.

Chiefs and Patriots have been absolutely benefitting from this rule. I saw on reddit someone did a dive for the first two weeks of games, and they both got away with over 8 holds per game. I def saw one on monday night when Mahomes scrambled for the long TD.

Someone should have mentioned that to the refs calling the Bills- Rams game last week. The Rams had the game won until the refs decided a PI could change the outcome of the game. Worst PI call I've seen in some time that didn't involve the Saints...lol
