I'll own it. I said Murray would likely shred the Panther defense and I was wrong. Of course, the Panther D we saw yesterday wasn't the same one we've seen thus far. I was pleasantly surprised that Curtis Samuel actually caught a couple passes and there were D-lineman in the Arizona backfield more than once.

Yeah. And it is across the board on the defense. Didn't see that one coming.

If it keeps improving game to game, it's going to be great.

It was impressive. But at the same time, the Panthers have had some good juju against the Cardinals for the last 6 years or so. That was win 5 in a row against them. Also, Kingsbury’s offense is pretty predictable and Murray is pretty average when you stop his scrambling. Hopkins was pretty obviously not 100% as well. And I do think Rhule and Snow’s experience against Kingsbury and Murray in the college ranks have them some advantage too.

Either way that was a great defensive performance, but I think they had some help too.

If they have that kind of performance against a team that has just completely owned the Panthers in recent years in the Falcons, I will really be excited to exorcise those demons.

For more reasons than one. 7 catches for 49 yds, but I think the bigger picture is where is his head after what occurred in Houston. Guy is one of the best WRs in the league, but he doesn't look happy playing the game, which has always been his trademark. I know he's dinged a little, but is he going to be just another excellent player fading into obscurity by playing on teams that can't get him the ball?
