Is QB the right pick?

Of course it isn’t the right pick. TB isn’t the problem. How many times do people need to be told this: the Panthers are in rebuild mode. Line is a mess, defense is retooling...heck, the entire team is simply learning how ton play together. Next year will be better but will not be what instagrafs on this circus board are looking for.  I can hardly wait for the staff to get things in place and Teddy and Co rocket into the top of the division. Two more years and that will be.

My money is on them drafting Wilson or Fields

I wouldnt be completely shocked if the traded down and picked up Micah Parson, then went DB+OL in the second round. maybe trade back in to the end of the 2nd like they did last year and pick up a 3rd second round pick and go bpa. Rolling with Teddy one more year then see what happens next season and what options become available.

Either way hoes gon be mad

I think Parsons is a stud, but that would be a mistake.  The only non qb I would take is Sewell.

This was probably already said in the 9 other pages, but Herbert was the qb3 last year. Qb classes aren’t all equal. Sometimes there’s 1 good qb, sometimes there’s 4. The qb3 could be better than the qb2. The qb2 could be better than the qb1. If we have an early first round grade on a qb we absolutely need to take him, regardless of how many other qbs went prior

Yep. The way it's looking right now, the #2 QB next year might have been the #7 or 8 QB this year.

    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
