Deshaun Watson unhappy in Houston?

Mangini seems to be the only one thinking that.

John McClain, Aaron Wilson and other Texans / NFL Insiders are reporting that McDaniels isn't even a candidate.

Most think he's going to go after Eric Bieniemy or failing that, Brian Daboll.

Where have you seen this? I've seen this nowhere, and saw multiple reports yesterday that they have no interest in Bieniemy at all and don't even think it's worth the time to interview him. And if they are going to target him, what the hell is the holdup? Every single other team with a coaching vacancy has interviewed him already. If they actually did have any interest it's completely retarded to let all the other teams get first dibs on him like that. The Texans are an absolute dumpster fire and are surely going to do something stupid with their HC hire as well. If I were Watson I'd be livid and want out too.

It absolutely is easy. If he is 100% adamant about never playing for the Texans again and holds out they will have no choice at all but to trade him. They're not going to turn down the boatload of assets they'd get in a trade just to try to win the fight with Watson. Being the most important person in that franchise right now, he has all of the leverage.

From John McClain...

For any Texans fans worried quarterback Deshaun Watson could be traded, forget about it.

Under no circumstances will the Texans trade Watson, who’s coming off an extraordinary season for a 4-12 team.

Pro Football Talk raised the possibility Thursday of Watson asking to be traded, and even if he does ask, he’s not going anywhere.

The Texans aren’t foolish enough to trade one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks who’s playing under a $156 million contract through the 2025 season.

“I’m not sure what exactly the ownership wants to do, but whoever it is has got to come in with a great structure and plan and making sure we’re accountable for every action. We’re all striving to go for one goal, and that’s raising that (Lombardi) trophy.”

Caserio has been part of six Super Bowl winners, so he knows all about the Lombardi Trophy and the prized rings that go with them.

Ignore the rumors - The Texans won't trade Deshaun Watson

Throw in that Caserio is probably going to hire the head coach Watson has been stumping for.

The search firm didn't have interest in Eric Bieniemy, but they didn't have interest in Nick Caserio either.

Caserio has basically indicated he's  resetting the coaching search and taking charge of it himself.

McClain is a shill for the Texans, he's reporting exactly what he's told by the organization. The organization can say right now that they 100% will not trade Watson, but as we've seen time and time again in the past what a team says doesn't mean a damn thing. It all depends on how badly Watson wants out.

If you think McClain is a shill, you haven't read his articles. And he had the news of the Caserio hire before anyone.

Plus, Aaron Wilson pretty much says the same thing. As does Mike Garafolo and just about everybody else who's commented on it.

This indicates the opposite. They were believed to be the most interested team before McNair hired Caserio and went around the search firm. Now, nobody has a clue except McNair/Caserio/Easterby. Easterby, who is really calling the shots in Houston, is known to love Joe Brady and it was reported that he knocked his Texans IV out of the park.

The only team that didn't request an interview was looked at as the team that was most interested in him?

That's an... interesting take

3 days have gone by with Caserio at the helm, why hasn't he requested an interview with EB? What's the hold up, if Caserio/Easterby are really interested in him like you suggest?

They don't appear to be interested  and that is why Watson is upset. It's the talk of the nfl sports radio world this morning.

More like a day and a half...actually more like a day since Caserio wasn't official until yesterday afternoon.

you are confusing speculation with reality again

Speculation: The Texans were the team "most interested in him" according to Albright.

Reality: The Texans are the only team that didn't request to interview him.

I don't really find that confusing at all, but I can see where you would.
