Person this morning: Rhule looking more likely to coach Senior Bowl, and Brady's best chance to end up is in

Being a good OC or DC doesn’t automatically mean you will succeed as a head coach and typically those guys are coordinator for more than 1 year combined in college and in the NFL. There’s so much more than coordinator to be a head coach and Brady has little none of that experience. He didn’t even have a full off-season or any rookie offensive players outside of a backup RB. McVay is the closest example in terms of a young coordinator becoming a coach and he had 7 total years in the NFL, 3 as OC compared to 2 and 1 for Brady. I’m not questioning Brady being a decent coach or saying he couldn’t be a future HC, but saying he’s going to be a good head coach has no real weight to it. Personally, I don’t see a reason to not interview and get used to the process but I would wait until I’d gotten more experience and sucked as much knowledge out of Rhule as possible who appears to me to be a good head coach/program builder. If someone throws $45M guaranteed then I might say fug it and try my luck.

I read they already asked about 12 teams and everyone declined. Said in past years coaches didnt want to do it and this year they are blaming convid as a excuse. 

To me it would add much more benefit rather than not. Even coaching against players would help, no idea why someone would turn it down especially if its a team with extra picks.

The way joe Brady is approaching his career, no one can blame him. It’s the best move for him and his career. If he doesn’t get a gig this year, I’m concerned next year he may get tooo fancy to work himself into a gig, a la chud. However, we will see.

Funny how many here are claiming the man can't coach, yet were more excited over him than any other coach hire for the Panthers last offseason, including rhule. So much so that y'all were scare that he'd only be here 1 season because of how good he is. 

Now that the time.for his interviews are herr, y'all are downplaying him. You guys can't have it both ways and be right.  

Whether you believe he can coach at the next level or not isn't going.to change the fact that he is a good coach, and is sought after. 

 

Be dismissive as you want. I really don't care. Just opinions anyways. 

 

For what it's worth, I don't wish to lose him, but it isn't a decision that any of us can make.

I don't see Rhule putting a lot of glue eaters on his staff, but otherwise yeah I'm with you. Don't promote internally just for the sake of promoting internally. They need to be qualified.
