What was his arm length? 6'4" is less than ideal at LT, but those other measurables are excellent.

For the record, Jordan Gross measured in at 6'4" 305. His arms were 33" which is considerably less than ideal for a LT. Everyone would be screaming "he's a guard!" if he measured in today.

Feels like Gross was drafted 80 years ago. The current group of DEs are LOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG armed freaks. Only thing that beats long arms is long arms. super rare exceptions

He was actually drafted the year after Peppers, one of the freakiest DEs ever.

Gross overcame that by being tough and harding work. According to players Peppers rag dolled Gross daily and almost killed his confidence. Gross said himself it wasnt until week 1 halftime, that he realized "Wow they dont have a DE like Peppers, its much easier!"  Gross also said something that stuck with me too- "OL is about losing slowly".

I got to dig more on Slater, one thing that I remember about Rhule with Derrick Brown. He talked about his personality and his focus, Reports have Slater being similar in that vein. Plus if hes the 8th, its a near must hes a LT....unless he can be a nasty Nelson clone. I respect DJs opinion and hes been bragging hardcore for Slater months ago.

Oh for sure, being able to go up against Peppers everyday definitely helps.

And yeah, any OL we would even consider has to play LT. No team sorry enough to land a top 10 pick can afford to spend it on an OG.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
