Are There Any Players You Would Like the Team to Move before the Draft?

In exchange for another player or to pick up extra draft picks.  I have 6 (with explanations):

-Shaq Thompson: Overpriced with average production

-Greg Little:  Can't stay healthy and hasn't lived up to his potential

-Ian Thomas:  Unable to take the next step; destined to be a #2 guy his whole career

-Donte Jackson:  Yeah he has speed, but can't tackle, can't stay healthy and coverage skills is marginal at best.

-Will Grier: Third round draft pick warming the bench, enough said.

-Marquis Haynes: Nothing more than a situational (undersized) pass rusher that hits FA next year.  Get something for him now.

Who would you attempt to shop before the draft?

Can't really disagree with your logic, but I'd keep Thomas and Jackson unless we get a definite upgrade. Jackson is still our best CB right now and played with turf toe all last season. Undersized? Yes, but a good coverage guy.

Thomas is a pretty good blocker, I can see him being more of a h-back and still contributing for cheap.

Teddy has to be at the top...

Donte is probably the only person on that list that would actually return a pick though. I'm not a big Donte fan, but (as always) our corner situation is pretty bad so doesn't really help to move on. And Shaq can't realistically be traded after that restructure, he'll be here for 2021.

If you dont count his injured games, Donte Jackson was a top 10 corner last year in the league. Top 5 CB in QBR when thown his direction. Donte Jackson is one of the better young corners in the league. If you remove the games where Donte played while injured, was on brink for elite.

I didn't believe this when I first saw it, but DJ was really strong last year.

Teddy Bridgewater

The reason I didn't mention him is we need to have a fall back plan.  Would it be ideal for TB to be the starter next fall?  No, but what would be less ideal is we move him and things don't go to plan.  If we move TB, we need to have his replacement here first.

Teddy as the fallback plan is like calling the rocky landing at the bottom of a tall cliff a safety net. If that's your plan it's already over.

Eh, I think we still could upgrade.  He will always be a timid shoestring tackler.

I disagree. If you look at the WRs he went up against last year and shutout.... I will take the average tackling skill with lockdown corner all day. There is a reason why corners never lead the league in tackles....or come even close.

Wow, I'd guess you'd start Grier over Teddy then, huh?  I'm not his biggest fan, but you are putting him in the Jimmy Clausen category as simply a putrid QB.

It's like I said when we signed Teddy. Teddy is purgatory. He's not good enough to allow you to compete but he's good enough to keep you out of draft contention for a legit franchise QB. Lo and behold look where we are, very possibly sitting just outside of the range for a top tier QB prospect this year. Teddy level QBs are the worst case situation in the NFL. Yes, I'd rather roll with Grier and be in position to draft a Howell or Rattler next year rather than be sitting at 5-11 to 7-9 range again next year and once again wondering how in the fug we're gonna find a QB.

Teddy, Little ans Jackson. Getting anything for Teddy is a win. Same with Little. I don't want to see us give Jackson a big contract and this is a great year to unload him for us. Bring in a  fast big body CB like we have been looking at recently.

That’s what we should have done last year. Teddy can’t win a playoff game with this team, why be mediocre again if we somehow miss on a QB. We had the perfect chance to go all out for a rookie QB last year and now we are worried we won’t even get one of the top 4. It’s our fault that we aren’t at worst at pick 2. Don’t repeat past mistakes.

So what if we get a rookie QB this year?  Start him and let him get shell shocked or throw Walker/Grier out there as sacrificial offerings?  Our OL is still very much a work in progress.

You are all about some tanking, BTW.
