Hidden Gem on Day 3? Simi Fehoko, WR from Stanford

Like probably most of you, I've been watching more tape on players, and specifically on some of the later round quarterbacks just to see what potential is out there.

So while I was watching some game tape of QB David Mills from Stanford... this guy just kept popping off the screen, so much that I finally looked him up and started to just watch him, and it was really hard NOT to like the kid.

6'3 and 222 lbs, posting a 4.37 and 4.42 40-speed (he looks faster on tape), and makes acrobatic catches in ways that reminded me of Smitty. Just some crazy ball awareness and control. You listen to his interviews and he's got a good head on his shoulders too.

ProFootballNetwork  rates him as an early Day 3 https://www.profootballnetwork.com/simi-fehoko-nfl-draft-player-profile-stanford-wide-receiver/

PFF algorithm compares him to Hank Baskett, but I think he could be so much more. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021-nfl-draft-comps-stanford-cardinal-wr-simi-fehoko

I know some have brought up maybe taking a receiver with the 1st pick. I'm not in that camp, but I would be pretty happy if we could get him in the 3rd round cutoff like we did with Chinn just to make sure.

I'm not sure why the projections on him are Day 3, so I may be missing something. But see for yourself! What do you think?

Yep, I've mocked him a few times now.  He's actually in my latest mock.  I know the Panthers are looking for a tall red zone target since they have Zoomed with Strachen (sp), the small school WR product that's 6'5".  Fehoko would be more polished coming in being from a Power 5 School.

I'd add UNC's Dazz Newsome and WFU's Sage Surratt to the list.

Newsome in particular is intriguing as a Samuel replacement. He doesn't have Samuel's game breaking speed, but he has better hands and is a much better route runner coming out of college than Samuel was. He has similar versatility. He's be a great 3rd day pick.

Surratt is a more typical pure receiver, but he's a good one. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being picked on day two.
