Well many of you didn't read the room correctly.. As soon as Darnold was traded for you should have put that QB thing out of your minds.. But you didn't.. Not the teams fault... The GM says there alot of Oline talent in the middle rounds.. I guess alot of you missed that as well.. I'm sorry your draft crush didn't get drafted but don't act like the Bears are in draft Nirvana giving up all these assets for players who might not start this year and still have huge ? about them.. I could see if they got 1 of the  elite no doubt players in this draft but they really didn't..

You might also want to be ready for more trade backs because Filt wanted more picks..

No doubt, they got an elite player in Fields

Sam Darnold going into last night was a one year rental.

I read the room pretty well.  Because I said going in the Seattle GM was worrisome for me with the early DB move being his likely go to.    Because he was going to have his unique Fitterer slant.  Like Dave had his bias. Like Hurndawg had his.

Fields is an elite QB prospect.  Bashing it as something else isn’t going to make our pick better.

Hopefully we don’t look foolish.  Fields isn’t a superstar.  Horn is great.  That ain’t certain at all though.

That's your opinion.. Alot teams and others can see the flaws in Fields.. His throwing motion his elementary simplistic offense knowledge.. His 1 read and go play... Sorry if you don't see it..

Your opinion.. Atleast 13 other teams weren't so sure.. Including his hometown team..

That logic doesn’t work.

There are tons of elite prospects in a draft.  Jags drafting Trevor for example doesn’t mean they thought Trevor was the only elite QB prospect.  They thought he was the best of the elite tier of QBs and the best for them.

Steelers drafting Harris doesn’t mean they thought Etienne was a bum.   Means they thought Harris was the best for them and the best of the elite RBs.  You can’t claim the Steelers think he wasn’t also elite since they didn’t draft him.  You only have one pick.

We need lots of players, I like this move.

They just told us they are blowing the 2021 year to have the number one pick next year.  We will be the Cleveland Browns of the NFC South.  I am glad I don't have PSL's

Works for me.. If he was so elite with all the game film and 2 years of stats then he would have been drafted hire then 2 QB with less in both categories... But reality is Fields has question marks in his game and some ppl realize it..

We will but you won't admit it..So this discussion is moot..

Fields is/going be, say it with me, ELITE, and it's a guarantee he's better than Darnold.

I personally can't wait for Sam to bomb so PJ gets his shot.

"HotTake"

PJ Walker will be the starter by the end of the year

    • Ask me in five years whether this draft class was good or not. Having said that, I'll grade the 2019 draft... R1 P16: Brian Burns - I'll argue this was a good pick. At the minimum, he was worth enough to have gotten a seriously good offer of picks which, in retrospect, we should've taken. But we still got something for him and his new team gave him a ton of money. R2 P37: Greg Little - Utter and complete flop. Only real value was somehow getting a 7th rounder from the Dolphins. R3 R100: Will Grier  - Played godawful the rare times he was on the field. Somehow still in the league. R4 P115: Christian Miller - Nothing of note. R5 P154: Jordan Scarlett - I don't think he even lasted two years. R6 P212: Dennis Daley - Some flashes of promise but we eventually traded him for some picks. Was terrible in Tennessee. I'll consider this a success since we got picks back. R7 P237: Terry Godwin - Did not last here long at all.  In summary, we got one quality starter... who is now gone. Daley might've been the second best player of this class and he was a middling backup at best. Burns saved this class from being a complete disaster.  D+
    • You can add that to the assessment of the whole offseason, but not the draft itself
    • If you're going to bring up the Burns trade you have to include the players we were able to sign with the money we saved by trading Burns.  We got three positions of need with the money we saved by trading him.
