Our 1K Yard Receivers From Last Season Are Being Wasted By Darnold's Horrible Play

How did Sam complete that long bomb to DJ in that final drive?

I'm still trying to figure it out because Sam is so inaccurate with the deep ball in the first place.

Sam's timing is off on deep balls but I think when he plays instead of thinks he can make some incredible throws.

It looked almost like he Russel-Wilson'd that deep ball where he just chucked it up but ended up being so damn on-target.  lol.

He should try doing that again and instead of aiming for the target he should just chuck it deep with plenty of air to it.... 😂

Cam had no LT but had elite interior play it's not the same at all.

Kalil/Turner/Norwell - 5x pro bowl, 2x 1st T-AllPro / 5x pro Bowl/ 1st T-All Pro

It's well beyond baffling that people are trying to compare these lines and yet at the time we still blamed the OL when Cam played poorly and a lot of that was true as well just like now except exponentially worse.

Wilson has had no OL and is one of the few who can escape like Houdini and that's it. Ain't no just deal with a historically bad OL when there has only been one guy who could maybe do it but yet in still his team is poo too now and they only won 1 SB so clearly they would have been better served to go ahead and get an OL. He also just fuged up his finger real good due to pressure up the middle.

Cam still stood strong in the pocket and delivered during horrible stretches of oline play. He didn’t act scared, he made it work more often then not. Also Cam made the olines better than they were because he was an escape artist and hard to bring down. Ask those guys who played with Cam. They will all tell you he made life easier for them. He helped those guys make pro bowls.

again nobody here is saying the oline doesn’t need an upgrade but you cannot overlook that Darnold is the absolute worst qb in the league in clean pockets over the past 4 years. Stop ignoring the obvious. Dude does not have what it takes. 2 sacks Sunday were on the oline. Nowhere for Darnold to go to. That happens to qbs on sundays every single Sunday even with some of the top olines in the league. Otherwise the line was fine You guys are expecting perfection that is never going to come. It’s not Darnold it’s the oline. It’s not Darnold it’s Brady. Darnold just sucks. Deal with it.

Robby had a terrible game this past Sunday. Other than that, I blame Darnold for Robby’s slow start this season. Panthers fans put a lot of the blame on Teddy Bridgwater last season but he didn’t have a problem finding Robby or Moore at all. Robby went from catching 95 balls to 15 this season through six games.

For one, DJ Moore is getting more of the shorter routes, which may explain why he’s getting 29% of the targets compared to 17% for Anderson. Last season, Anderson got 27% compared to 22% for Moore.

You should put more blame on Brady for changing what was working.

I understand it’s Brady’s fault too but he isn’t the one playing QB. The receiving core was supposed to be our strongest at the beginning of the season.

Its better than it has been but it's been having drop issues since camp... And not just for Darnold

We have 3 players in the top 10 in drops while Miami is the only other team with more than 1 and they both are tied with Chuba for drops. Robby leads the league and DJ is tied for 2nd. Sam has made some baffling throws and can't hit the broadside of a barn on anything over 20 yards but our receivers have not been good either.

Well I mean...he did hit Ian Thomas for 40+ on that final drive if we're going to be accurate......

But your point is for the most part, accurate.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
