College coaches may be worse than used car salesmen

well, there is no way to actually make it fair once the money comes in IMO.

not that it is fair now either though.

Well money is the motivating factor in college and the pros. If the players are already getting paid proportionately to the amount of money they bring to their respected programs and the NCAA it may not be as easy to bribe a broken kid trying to help his family.

College tuition keeps going up and schools say it’s because they can’t afford professors and basic necessities for a university but their athletic programs can give coaches 100 million dollar contracts.

This kind of bs should be illegal.

college football/basketball will basically need a new divisions featuring the biggest schools where they can go against each other….with no salary cap.

really should happen is they should just do away with the NFL eligibility requirements too.

The NFL saw what happened when the NBA did that. It didn't work too well for the majority of the kids. The only way that would work would be if the NFL had a developmental league that all the guys that went pro right out of high school were forced to play in until called up.

    • Screw it, I'll go against the grain and play devils advocate. We tried the committee approach with Turk Wharton and Bobby Brown at DT instead of just paying a little extra for the blue chip player Milton Williams last offseason..That was a mistake. If we pass on Trey, we'll most likely do the same again.. overpay for JAG's who don't move the needle(Wonnum, Jones, Wharton, Brown). If we like it or not, there's a high chance we are going to have BY for another few years bare minimum. Might as well just accept it, use that extra cap space to build a good team around him like other franchises do with their rookie contract QB, then see what happens. A projected 2 year 50 mill deal for a player who's 1 year removed as the sack leader is not the worst outcome. Plus, that would take pressure off our young edge guys to carry the workload.. Tre played in 7 games last year, still had 4 sacks. Around a 10 sack rate if he plays the entire season. Still better than anyone we have. He was also playing hurt before he finally called it quits for the season. I get that he's 31, but a guy who heavily relies on hand usage, technique etc more than athleticism should still be productive as he ages a little. It's a strong LB class. It would allow us to address LB, OT, with our 1st and 2nd round picks while giving us another year to evaluate Scourton and Princely before we jump the gun on another edge.
    • Realistically, there’s only so many avenues and there’s limited guys who are going to give you what he brings.  You’re just not finding that much elsewhere. It could be an overpay, but possibly worth it to help sustain our trajectory.  If they could somehow swing adding Hendrickson and let’s say Leo Chenal, I’d target that and build the rest through the draft and lower end value signings.  Im not jumping up and down for him, but he would change our defense entirely for at least 2-3 seasons
    • All teams are 0-0 once the playoffs start. If that was a futile effort then someone forgot to tell the team and I'm sure the Rams would disagree.  NFL is a parity league which is one of the things that make it so exciting.  Any given Sunday. So many things change, so many uncontrollable variables that you have to take advantage of every opportunity. There are guys who went to the playoffs their rookie year and then never make it back.  We haven't been since 2017 before this year.
