JStew liked this tweet from CJ. Could just be agreeing, but could also be a sign of things to come. đź‘€

there’s a bunch of players  on this roster that neither know or care to know what and why this is so.

it’s a team full of mercenaries, and the worst part is that I don’t even mean the outside acquisitions. Those guys actually do seem to care. Anderson, Reddick, Gilmore. Those guys fight hard.

its the in house guys that all seem to be going through the motions and collecting a paycheck.

There’s no identity.

We looked better last year because we had an actual, functioning NFL offense last year.  Turns out, Teddy was not the problem and we probably should have just kept him.  Hindsight is a bitch sometimes.

Honestly? Coaching was better last year.  We hung with playoff teams, super bowl teams. Teddy could run the offense competently but he is so heavily limited that I get moving on from him. But we double downed on the stupidity after him. If we had drafted fields instead of trading a fuging 2nd rounder for Darnold we’d actually have a little bit of hope right now.

I see moving on from Teddy IF there is a better option available.  Obviously Sam Darnold and the Ghost of Cam Newton are NOT better options.  We just need to draft a QB and go from there.  Unless we magically trade the farm for Watson, Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers there is not going to be anybody else worth the resources involved via trade.  We gotta just draft our guy.  Pickett will probably be available when we pick.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
